AuthorTopic: Are NI going to make 100 million this year with bundle???

So with the pricing action we can speculate, at the moment its a quick 100 grand. But assuming they wish to continue with their current pricing distributer model, it may not be working and this pricing policy is really pissing on the heads of their retailing network.

But actually figure it out. How many Emagic and Cubase Licenses have been sold ? isnt the Emagic user base (including PC) still now about 180 000 licenses ?

You can figure the maths themselves. NI could quite easily try and create the all in one bundle pack for your VSTi needs rather just like reason, you either have the option of buying the bundle or just separates. Additional products and updates to the bundle are simply added as upgrade costs like any other sequencer or reason package. I mean usually the Emagic and steins have been charging us 150 bucks per major upgrade, and it has started to becoming a yearly ritual.

So with what I perceive as the user base out there, yes it does make sense to try and sell a bundle at a grand to everybody. Attract 100 000 users to the bundle and thats 100 million bucks !

Is 100 000 people a lot ? Hmm well like I say, what are the combined users of emagic/stein/sonar/motu etc ? half a million ? If a $1000 is going on the shelfs, how big is the market that yamaha perceive have cash for such a market ?

Oh, and the first 100 get the deal hahaha, yeah right, how would we know they suddenly got a 1000 orders. Those sort of tactics are hmm very american in order to get your wallet out quickly BEFORE YOU MISS OUT !!

Bluey.

My goodness... a bluey post that actually pertains to audio in some way. Surprised Of course, it's also partially about money, mistrust and corruption, so it's not a complete loss. Smile

FYI, Steinberg has over a million installations in the world.

It's funny how you describe these tactics as being "very American" when it's the German companies you mentioned - Steinberg, Emagic, & NI - that are the ones pushing these kinds of bundles.

I just tried to order the bundle and their store is broken, you can't order anything. And it doesn't matter if you have the bundle in the cart or a new cart with just a normal product. So either they have gotten a lot of sales and it's broken or it's just broken and they haven't gotten any sales.

Oh well, maybe they will fix it before they run out of the bundle or I change my mind. Smile

I own Dynamo, and I never touch the thing. Some here may think Dynamo isn't in the same ballpark with th NI line, and you won't get any argument from me. Still, it is the Genesis for my distaste for NI.

If I had a thousand dollars to put into software, I'd get Atmosphere, Trilogy, Devine Machine, and upgrade Sonar XL to 2.2.

BTW, I was in Guitar Center tonight, and my regular pro audio guy gave me a CD from NI with all their demos on it. So, we shall see. When I told him you could get the whole NI line for $999, he looked like he's seen a ghost.

well since their secure server is down and they are limiting the bundle to the first hundred customers, I doubt they will be making much out of this

wuh how many do you know they have sold already, maybe they sold 500 and only say 100 !

100k is not really much when you have 50 people to pay on a regular basis and creditors.

I've seen this trick so many times, but its no ripoff, its a good deal.
