AuthorTopic: 45 days left for Reaktor

The Reaktor area of sectionz.com is dead. No one seems interested in using the area we've created for Reaktor to share their ensembles with each other and learn how to use the program better.

We were hoping that users would appreciate a place to go other than the Native Instruments Reaktor Library and forums, but our Reaktor section has been untouched for months.

We have 45 days from today to see if anyone wants to use this area, and if we have no participation it will be removed from sectionz.com.

I personally think that the Reaktor area of sectionz.com could thrive with a little participation from users of the software - it's a very advanced program and everyone is constantly learning new ways to do certain things, and create bigger and better synths, effects, and other types of ensembles. A community for users to talk about Reaktor and collaborate on Reaktor projects is something that I've thought users would appreciate, but it seems that isn't so.

If you think that the Reaktor area on sectionz is worth having, let us know by uploading one of your creations of even telling us on our new forums how you feel about it.

thank you,
- Brian

I would be interested if I was a Reaktor owner- community involvment only serves to benefit everyone. This forum has had a huge influence on VStis, just look at all of the developers that frequent the forum.

Exactly S_A_P which is why we're not really sure why no one has been using it.

If you look at it, it's really a great place for Reaktor users. I just hope that we find out over the next month and a half that others are interested in using it.

I wonder if the timing was bad. Since I have upgraded to R4 I have hardly used a forum. Time has been spent learning the system and exploring the new instruments. Also, I think it is a deal in which once people start, it will really grow. When people go and see almost nothing, they are less likely to post.

Anyway, I would much prefer a forum to the Yahoo group. I hate the Yahoo group method of trying to follow threads. I hope it picks up. This forum could really be handy. Sorry I have not made use of it. Maybe when I get some things at home caught up and I am ready to try making some things in Reaktor.

Well the area is not that new really. It's actually been there for around a year now! Since November 2002 not one person has used it.

Your right, the tough part is that no one wants to be the first, or one of the first even, but we need some people to help get the ball rolling. Once the area gets used a few time I think it can pick up a lot of momentum and really be a great place for users of Reaktor.

I think one of the big things that people are having a hard time with is that no one wants to upload an unfinished synth to the area because they are afraid they will look bad. The thing to realize here is that the ensembles can be updated, and renamed with new version numbers, and use the corrective criticism they've recieved to make the synth much better in the long run.

I got my copy of Reaktor 4 less than 2 weeks ago, and I haven't had any time to figure it out yet really because I've been working too much. You can trust me though when I say the minute I get it to make noise I'm going to post something though Wink

It's Z's decision to kill the Reaktor area if I can't get people to use it within 45 days, so hopefully some of you will use it, and turn it into one of the best communities for Reaktor users on the net.
