I think they did some effects units under a simpler name too ... but the reason I am asking is if any one as got one and can send me the sounds as samples, these were only ..bass drum, snr, cl-hat,op-hat, 3 toms and a handclap... 8 sounds only it would be greatly appreciatted. Reason is simple I recorded many moons a ago some tracks with the machine (I think RX10) and the progressed to the SR16, but I want to do some fixes on the original mixes I have ... since the machine is somewhat muffled in the recordings I have... Help

.. Bluedad thanks for the link info, and the location of the samples, now I am able to return to the mid 80's via the sounds of a yahama RX21 drum machine, now I wonder is there a casio 101 virtual synth ? Here's wishing... again a big thank you.

Check out reFX's PlastiCZ-an update of the CZ-101(sort of). Also,a lot of SynthEdit synths(such as BONES',for example)use phase distortion oscillators-the heart of the CZ sound.

Alternately, if you're of a hardware turn of mind you'll pick up a CZ101, or an RX off ebay for £20-£30 each, if you look.

Hi Rob,

The RX range were all different, with samples from 8 bits to 16 bits, so you really need to know which one.

I don't recall an RX10 so you may well be thinking of the RX11, which was an early model, 8 bit samples I believe.

The effects units by the way were FX, not RX Smile

I had an RX5 years ago which I bought coz it had a cool bass sound which you could tune across the pads. Very impressive for about a day Laughing
