looks a lot like some of the Reaktor ensembles - does it do similar things or is it something original?

Beatburner VSTi
Beatburner is a software synth that is a little different from the norm. Using innovative wave shaping and filtration methods you can turn an innocent drum beat (or any sound) into a professional sounding synthesizer. Beatburner comes with a myriad of sample loops to get you started but it doesn’t stop there, you can mangle any sound you want! Full automation and preset morphing means there are literally no limits to the soundscapes you can create. Beatburner features include: · VSTi compatibility · Full automation of all parameters · 5 phat filters · envelope modulation · innovative waveshaping synthesis · intuitive tactile interface · built in sample library What are you waiting for? Don’t take our word for it!

In my opinion there is nothing quite like BeatBurner. I mean the stuff you can do with a drum loop is just crazy. Try the demo...you won't regret it. Some of the sampler ensembles in Reaktor 4 library are good and I have great fun using them....but they are not THIS good. Nothing like BeatBurner. There aren't many VSTi's that I would call truly innovative....but BeatBurner is an exception. The sounds (and overall effect) that you can achieve with it are just excellent. It's quite unique. I for one get a bit bored with seeing a rack full of the same old VA style VSTi's in my host. I think its about time we had something a bit more special
| smart | Posted: 18th June 2003 16:38 | |||
yeah, it's very cool. | ||||
| Spe3D | Posted: 18th June 2003 16:38 | |||
What is going on here then, did I miss what happens to existing customers with regard to the vsti version or something?
Spe3d | ||||
| Gargoyle | Posted: 18th June 2003 16:56 | |||
Spe3d, I'm in the same boat. The deafening silence on upgrades for existing customers of the standalone is rather telling. I checked with a quick search of the forum, there's not been a single response to that question - it's been summarily ignored. I think that, sadly, "nothing" is the answer to your question
| ers | Posted: 18th June 2003 17:13 | |||
The answer is:
There is no answer yet - and rather than misinform people and upset them we would like to give a concrete definite answer. What is clear is that we need to do that asap... Unfortunately we have been so busy preparing the product that this issue has not been properly addressed.
| Gargoyle | Posted: 18th June 2003 17:46 | |||
Thank you! That was all that was needed
| Spe3D | Posted: 18th June 2003 17:56 | |||
I think it needs a bit more than that before declaring a new variant of a products ability if the customer service side has not been ironed out first. I thank you for the update to this thread ERS and look forward to your announcement for existing customers soon. Spe3d

Wow Amazing | ||||

Hi Spe3D...hows it going The BeatBurner VSTi has only just been announced and won't be available until July, so I am sure that most people are quite happy to wait (at least until then) for any information on upgrade deals to come through. I know I am. What I'm getting edgy about is actually getting my hands the BeatBurner VSTi. I absolutely can't wait I very much doubt its a simple case of upgrading your existing license through www.codeaudio.com for a number of reasons. It is now a boxed product. This might only be £50 (which in my opinion is a complete bargain) but I can't honestly see an easy upgrade deal to the VSTi. I mean it must cost almost this for the GMedia production costs (Box, CD, Manual, Loops etc.) so to expect the full boxed version for much less would be crazy. If it was a simple case of BeatBurner becoming a boxed product with no other significant features added (including VST support) then maybe we could expect to only have to pay the addition production and shipping/handling costs. But this is a significant upgrade (not a simple update!) having many new features including becoming a VSTi. I would expect to pay at least £20 or £30 just for the upgrade! Add £20 pounds on for the production costs (box, CD, manual, loops etc.) and I can see that £50 is a complete bargain. I am amazed that CodeAudio/Gmedia have managed to keep the price so low (typo on the pricing? Also, we are dealing with a totalling different distributor. Upgrading the electronic distribution originally provided from one company (CodeAudio) to a boxed product now manufactured and distributed by another company (Gmedia) sounds very complicated to me. I am sure there are a lot of things to work out. Anyway....looking forward to BeatBurner
| Angus_FX | Posted: 19th June 2003 04:27 | |||
Actually it's not really "another company". Code Audio is part of the GForce group (along with Gmedia Music, FXpansion and Ohm Force), the GMedia people are helping with the box production but it is a GForce product and NOT a Gmedia Music product. The only reason it's on the Gmedia Music website is that the GForce website is not operational yet...
btw, Beatburner VSTi totally rocks
| LeeStacey | Posted: 19th June 2003 04:55 | |||
I can vouch for that | ||||
| Deuce | Posted: 19th June 2003 06:36 | |||
Ah right. Thanks for the explanation Just out of interest how is the upgrade from the electronic DR-008 to the boxed product handled? Is there an upgrade path for this? Also, when we see the next major update (v2.0?) will customers that bought the downloadable product still be able to upgrade by download or will it be boxed only? I am quite interested in this side of things - i.e. when a product moves from shareware to retail (boxed)...don't ask me why....must be the geek in me
Can't wait ...erm, have I said that already I have lost count of the number of times I have used BeatBurner to create totally unique baselines from any old drum loop. This in itself is mad enough (you have to see and hear it in action to believe it oh aMUSEd - before you say it. Yes R4 does have snapshot morphing so all of you that have Reaktor (Sessions) will know how excellent this feature in BeatBurner will be. As far as I know, apart from Reaktor 4 and BeatBurner, there are not any other VSTi's that have this function. I know Chainer can morph between any VSTi's presets but this is not in realtime - its more of a preset creating tool. This realtime pattern morphing is cutting edge stuff
| Angus_FX | Posted: 19th June 2003 06:44 | |||
There is no upgrade from the electronic DR-008 to the boxed product, because it offers really nothing in the way of new features or sounds but what we'd have to charget you would be too much for it to make sense. It's the same reason why we don't offer a boxed upgrade to SONAR XL users.
Don't worry about v2.0 just yet... v1.2 is next down the pipe and believe me it's gonna kick ass
| putte | Posted: 19th June 2003 06:56 | |||
Now that ers and angus are in this thread .... what about *cough* a mac-version?
Is it interesting at all for you, ers? And for you, angus, probably helping a "little bit"? I was always jealous, for many years, ´cause the pc´ers had Acid. I hoped that i won´t be jealous again ... but this BeatBurner almost looks like as if it will happen again ... all the best with it, ers putte
| LeeStacey | Posted: 19th June 2003 08:19 | |||
There is a simple answer.
Get a PC. | ||||
| putte | Posted: 19th June 2003 08:24 | |||
| Hewitt Huntwork | Posted: 19th June 2003 08:46 | |||
Putte,
Maybe your CD will take off and you can get Plugzilla or the one with the built-in keyboard (which looks better to me).
| topaz | Posted: 19th June 2003 08:52 | |||
im sure if it does well as im sure it will...a Mac port will be done.
| ||||
| LeeStacey | Posted: 19th June 2003 09:11 | |||
There will be no beatburner port to Mac by Code Audio for the forseeable future.
| Spe3D | Posted: 19th June 2003 11:52 | |||
Hi! Alex, Its going well thanks, Thanks for your input on the tread, I am not going to bash this out with you on here (at the moment) due to the fact the product is in its early stages and all that is needed is and was input from the developer for existing customers with regard to how the stand on its own product is going to be upgraded in the future and also an upgrade path to the vsti version. This has now been asked many times and still not been satisfactorily answered for existing customers. You need to understand that how the customer is treated plays just as an important part for a products possible long-term success. There also seems to be a couple of key people involved here that I respect and will be very surprised if they endorse this product with its current customer feedback policy. Spe3d

I really hope that there is an upgrade path for a downloaded version. I made a point to ask about this before I bought beat burner in the first place and I was told that there would be, so I then decided to buy the program. All I ever really wanted was the VST version anyway, becuase the standalone is to cumbersome to input notes into for me.
I have faith in the develpers that there will be an upgrade path so I"m not to worried yet. dw
| LeeStacey | Posted: 19th June 2003 12:47 | |||
Fear not, we shall have an answer for you soon on the upgrades.
It is good to see that you are so keen. Your loyalty as customers is very important to us, therefore we *are* listening to you and will do our very best to find a solution that will keep everyone happy. Not long now until release! I'm looking forward to it. Thanks again for your continued support.
| pough | Posted: 19th June 2003 12:52 | |||
Ouch! I'm on a PC and even I felt that one. Putte, I guess you'll just have to convince the equally OS-emphatic developer of PHATmatik to smack Beatburner's ass with with an AU-stick!
| LeeStacey | Posted: 19th June 2003 14:58 | |||
Really, I have nothing against the Mac, actually I love them.
Anyway, here is some good news about upgrades: Upgrades will be available at the reduced cost of £30 from G-Force until August 14th. We will keep you posted...... Again, thank you.
| Spe3D | Posted: 19th June 2003 15:02 | |||
Thank you LeeStacey, Looking forward to getting my hands on this variant Spe3d

thanks leestacey waiting in the queue for the shop to open
| Deuce | Posted: 20th June 2003 11:26 | |||
Now that is very good news indeed.
| smart | Posted: 20th June 2003 11:30 | |||
that upgrade price is actually a pretty good deal if you consider that we've only paid $20 to use the standalone for all this time
| Deuce | Posted: 20th June 2003 14:21 | |||
thats a good way of looking at it
| Spe3D | Posted: 20th June 2003 14:47 | |||
I now cannot wait for the vsti version to hit the market
I am going to really explore its capabilities the moment it does Spe3d
| LeeStacey | Posted: 21st June 2003 02:28 | |||
Well, as far as capabilities go, you can automate pretty much anything, you can use sequencer note data or it's own piano roll.
Hopefully I shall have a "good" audio demo for you soon.
| korn666 | Posted: 21st June 2003 03:25 | |||
did this Beatburner have an Wavebrowser...for easy loading and preview Samples
thx for an answer | ||||
| LeeStacey | Posted: 21st June 2003 03:45 | |||
Yes it does, just hit this button:
![]() and a browser window pops up. highlighting the file allows you to preview.
| LeeStacey | Posted: 21st June 2003 05:13 | |||
As promised, here is the audio demo.

| Deuce | Posted: 21st June 2003 06:27 | |||
Not only that but someone said you can demo the sample using BeatBurners settings before you even load it from the browser!!! There's only one other VSTi that can do this and thats Vaz 2010 (with loading presets). This is a very cool feature indeed....as it means you don't have to actually load a sample/preset to see how its gonna sound. Nice one CodeAudio Damn I can't wait for BeatBurner VSTi
| Sensational | Posted: 21st June 2003 18:37 | |||
Buy beatburner!
I need ten posts to be able to review
| Spe3D | Posted: 22nd June 2003 17:21 | |||
Is the stand on it own version going to benefit from any further updates? Still have not put an answer to that one yet!
Spe3d | ||||
| smart | Posted: 22nd June 2003 17:27 | |||
No, it's not man so I wouldn't waste your time
| LeeStacey | Posted: 22nd June 2003 17:46 | |||
No, we will not be updating the standalone. Unless there is something you're not telling us it does everything it is supposed to do.
| cold c | Posted: 22nd June 2003 18:28 | |||
Hi LeeStacey,
Will there be a VSTi demo version? I would try the standalone demo again but I have installed it once and it expired before I got a chance to fully test it. Thanks.
| smart | Posted: 22nd June 2003 18:31 | |||
There's was one a while back, but I'm not sure if GMedia will put it online - chances are that they will though.
| cold c | Posted: 22nd June 2003 18:49 | |||
Thanks smart, I'll be patient then. |
