AuthorTopic: BeatBurner VSTi question
Deuce

I saw the thread the other day where it said that us BeatBurner standalone owners would be able to get an upgrade to the BeatBurner VSTi for only £30 Shocked

I was wondering if this is an upgrade to the boxed BeatBurner VSTi, or an engine only download.

I hope it is to the boxed product coz I really want the loops that are gonna be bundled with it Very Happy

If not, I might just get the full version anyhow for the loops....£50 is a complete bargain for a boxed VSTi such as this. You would pay this just for a half decent loop CD these days Smile

Thanks

The upgrade will be a full boxed product... no less!

You will not be disappointed...

I would have hoped for a download version though, why pay for a box and really loops?

Confused

I would hope for the same thing as well. My only availability would be to order from an online merchant, and I'm impatient as hell! Laughing In other words, when I get ready to buy, I want it NOW! Very Happy (or yesterday)

Alot of thought went into deciding to do it this way, hence the delay.
What you are getting for your £30 is a boxed product with a manual and some sample loops , that has to be better than a download and after all, why should you get less than anyone else?
Don't forget that you are also getting VSTi functionality, including midi and VST automation of just about every control so it is entirely a new product!
Once again, thanks for your feedback, it is highly appreciated and we do liten to every word you say/type.

That's excellent news. I would have had trouble on my dial-up connection if I had to download the loops.

Thanks guys Smile

He's right! How could a computer program be any good if it came in a box? Have we all gone mad? Rolling Eyes

Because the BeatBurner threads here really were involved with hype. It was only under duress did the company CodeAudio start to address its ‘existing customers’ even after sending emails.

The stand on its own product is being sold even though its reached the end of its development line and there was not mention of this on their website.

Upgrade path again was made under duress, without considering the existing customers how purchased a downloadable product from them in the past, this option is not available.

They find it amusing, and again the hype participants, metamorphosis took place to their footers to now show they represent the company.

No doubt I could go on but I won’t just at the moment Alex, there are plenty of BeatBuner threads to read through here.

This is how the customer is treated now, well the future what will happen to new customers, what kind of service will they get?

right time to chime in, sorry I could not keep quite here.

I have been under NDA for sometime and unable to give info.
now it's official the release I guess I can talk.

Spe3d I dont want to get involved in your wrangles with codeaudio as im 100% freelance and unbiased but in all my experience of testing and helping enhance many of the vsti/fx/apps out there I can safely say that codeaudio will not need any luck here, the product is going to do well because it,s a great product. if you like BB standalone then this is the exact same thing in a vsti (plus more)

im not a rep for codeaudio and even though I was fortunate to test and help out with BBvsti I did buy the standalone too, why. becuase it's a wonderfull thing.

nuff said.

Well you will notice Topaz, at the ‘moment’ I am focusing on the ‘customer service’ issues as I feel this plays just an important part in the products future.

As you say the product is the exact same thing, (but more) yet the stand-alone is now not going to be updated. There is no mention of this on their site.

I don't understand the complaining.

The upgrade policy is very fair, and if they want it to be in a box what is the big deal?

I was shocked that it was going to be the boxed version and not a downloadable one, I don't mind one bit.

You know, I've got to defend Code Audio here. Firstly, I'm pretty friendly with ers and pilch, and I know them both enough to say that they both are trying to do things right. Neither one of them wants to piss anyone off.

Beatburner is one hell of a plugin. It's a great tool for beating the shit out of loops and can be used to do a bunch of different things. It's also pretty cheap for what it is especially considering that it comes in a box with a manual.

I think that the upgrade price is just right. I bought Beatburner almost a year ago for $50, and now to upgrade it's going to cost me another $50 which is no problem. The regular price of it is $80, so if you think about it I only paid $20 for the standalone which I've been using all this time. I think it's nice to know that they're not asking everyone to buy the whole thing again.

I don't really understand what the problem is here. The site doesn't say anything about it being updated? and? I suppose that if it did you'd expect it for free?

Did you say that about Native Instruments when they announced Absynth 2.0? Pricing on software is not just a random decision. If something grows and becomes considerably more advanced, with more functions and more capability, the price of it will go up.

Am I missing something?

by the way, here's another little demo of it for people who haven't heard it. It's nothing really special, but does show off a little bit of what it's all about.

what are the demo restrictions again?
I could knock a demo up for it too if the demo allows it.
