According to the NI shop, Absynth users will have two options to upgrade to Abysnth 2.

1) Downloadable update + short PDF handbook = $69
2) Boxed update with CD + manual = $99

All apparently available on July 11th (we'll see about that one Wink ). I think this is a pretty cool deal. Looking forward to the update!

Did anybody else notice that it looks like Absynth 2's going to use a registration tool like Reaktor's?

I didn't notice it, but it doesn't surprise me.

It also *guaranteed* that I can do without Absynth. I vote with my money, and won't buy challenge-response VSTI's.

I decided not to buy V1 (random CD check) because the demo timed out before I could complete any of the "substantial" tutorials on the web, and I wasn't gonna pay that much for strictly a preset player. Crystal, z3ta+, and (soon) Rhino together will keep me happy for the same price range.

Yes I too will be thinking twice about upgrading if it has challenge-response Crying or Very sad

I don't want to get overloaded with VSTi's that have this Rolling Eyes

I have Reaktor 4 and have had Reaktor since 2.3 but now feel
like I don't fully own it anymore Sad
