AuthorTopic: BEATBURNER BURNING QUESTION
Catspad
Posted: 7th July 2003 00:38
I notice that Beatburner is now available as a VSTi, but I was wondering what it is/does.
There's not a great deal of info at the Gmedia site, but reading what there is, I am led to believe that you load a sample (drum loop for example) and Beatburner chucks out "new fresh audio parts". Surprised
I'd be much obliged if one of you kind fellas could elaborate on what that means and what this beastie can do.
Ta v'ry much Very Happy

i once did a review on it on trax music about it

BeatBurner http://www.codeaudio.com/ is a loop creation tool which enables users to revitalize their existing sample loop collection by transforming them into tones using a sound synthesis technique. Compare it to running all different instruments in a loop through vocoders.

cool utility

Thanks ET. That's what I thought it did.
That sounds real interesting and most useful, eh ?
Not a bad price too. That may well be next month's little purchase Very Happy

yeah that is realy usefull
it comes with a keyroll that lets you program the fragmants in a loop on tone (as far as i know even midi controlable)
so in terms of synthesizing or so to call vocoding audiosources it is very flexible.
further - the filters of the aplication are very nice!

In some senses you are right, what it does is similar in a lot of ways to a vocoder, though re-synthesis probably describes it a little better but I won't bore you with the science on that.....

Yes, in the VSTi version the keyroll can be controlled by data from the host or you can choose otherwise.

The VST version is a vast improvement...

New features include full parameter morphing
Sync to host (multiple beatburners can be run in parallel)
Midi Learn
Full VST parameter automation
and more...

You wont be disappointed Wink
