I just went to NI's online shop to order the Absynth 2.0 downloadable
upgrade that should be available tomorrow and its not there anymore


They still have the grace period download for peeps that purchased
after feb 1 2003 but not the one for everyone else , it was there
the other day

read and see it has a patch recall bug. maybe this time ni try to fix some bugs first ?

It's available, but it refuses to accept my username! I'm logged in with that username in another browser window - what's the deal? And why do they ask for it, anyways?

EDIT: They keep the registration and forum accounts separate. Even though I was only getting the password wrong, it was telling me my username was wrong.

Oh yeah, get ready for a bit of a ride. I went through some trouble with registering Reaktor 4, and now, I have Absynth 2 installed but I can't play with it yet, as I don't have a serial number for this version...

would work for thirty days w/out the serial number ...

I just tried opening Ab 2 and it won't load. I get a window saying my serial number is not good (I haven't entered one yet, 'cause I don't have one!).

Just downloaded and had a quick play around for the past hour

Hardly scratched the surface yet but things seem very stable both in standalone and as a plugin in Logic. It takes up a bit more memory than the old Absynth, but nothing more than can be expected with the new granular stuff i guess. The new factory bank sounds nice and interesting but there's so much to explore.....i can't hang around

Damn, I feel like an idiot again...and as usual on NI's expense. I ordered the boxed update for $99, but now I have to wait for it in the mail, while all you cheapskates who bought the download version are already playing around with Absynth 2. UNFAIR! I have started a thread (http://www.native-instruments.de/index.php?id=1576&upper=index.php?id =forum_us%26type=2&lower=forum/showthread.php%3Fs%3Dae6d03bc5985f7c92b 5f3313fac265ea%26postid%3D26524%23post26524) in NI's Absynth forum, asking if customers who bought the boxed version can download the update while they wait, but so far only a totally confusing response from the moderator. I love Absynth and I really look forward to this new version, but somehow NI always manages to piss me off.

I tried a Variax and thought it sounded crappy. Now, I understand there are several different models so maybe I tried the wrong one?

Yep its available to "paying" customers right now. It was supposed to be available for DL, for the "grace-period" users who bought Abysynth 1x after Feb-2003, for free, on the 18th of July. Of course, its not available yet....

I have tried to order the upgrade twice. Every time I click "download" on the purchase screen it sends me back to that stupid map page. Then I select US and Kentucky, again, and it tells me I never selected a product.

Using the latest IE with all patches.
