Yes, bass chords. I've strummed my bass before. Adds a nice, big rumble...

not as good as the 4 front Piano (which has a real good, autenthic piano sound), but still sweet....especially for the price Very Happy

...even tho it has a quite warm touch to it, I think the sound in this thing is a bit "noisy", and it doens't sound like a 100% real bass...(the Piano sounded almost 100% like a real piano IMO) ...tho, I guess you can live with this, especially when used "in the mix", and not just as a solo instrument...(I've only tried out a few bass solos with it, not used it in any real songs yet..)

I like this bass much better than BooBass(sorry just had to type that), even if I can't tweak the sound. and since I can't afford trilogy, I am gonna have to make it my main bass. Thanks!

Not a bad bass sound. At high velocities it brightens up a great deal. Ideally I would like to be able to tame the extent of this timbre change.

Not bad indeed...it has no spectacular sound but sits good in the mix. And that's what a bass should do...!

Thanks! Smile

I rather like the 4 front piano. Sounds pretty good, is easy on the CPU, and mixes in well. What (free) alternatives do you prefer over it, Bluedad?

(ot.) sampletank free's piano is good...mda piano is good, uh there are more I believe.
on topic, nice job, it does sit nicely in a mix. Smile

mda Piano is a joke. Sounds like Casio toy.

That's my personal opinion, there could be different ones.

Within a category of "low-sized pianos" (although not free), SuperQuartet has quite a decent one.

I have to disagree about the mda piano. I was working with a friend recently in a small 8 trk (analog) studio. We were looking for a Leon Russell piano sound, so we fired up the CD of "Song For You".
We tried to match the piano sound using a Kurzweil module, a Roland JV1080, and an E-MU module, no luck. We opened Chainer and loaded some of our larger soundfonts. Closer, but still not good enough. Finally we loaded the mda piano, and with just a little tweaking, we were getting really close. What we eventually did was lay down the track with the mda piano, re-amp it through two 4x12 cabinets, which we laid on their backs side by side supported by four wooden chairs, and recorded that in stereo. It sounded amazing.
Granted, we didn't have Giga or The Grand to compare it to. I've heard the rumor that mda piano uses some old crappy Yamaha samples as the sound source, but I don't care. It works.

mda piano uses samples from the old yamaha emt10. It's the best free thing out there.
at least it's pretty much in tune.
you can tweak it to your liking.

c'mon now, let's talk about the base Very Happy

(hopefully I can fool the casual readers that I am dilligently upholding the spirit of KVR as I have been for years..... Wink )

Sounds good and probably the best shot I have of using a real base sound.

I noticed the brightening of the sounds as well, but I think it's my crappy speakers.
