AuthorTopic: Do you use Gigastudio?

I was just curious to how many of you around here use Gigastudio and/or the .gig banks in other compatible programs like Kontakt, and the like? No other program has changed my world for music more than Giga, hands down. The MAJORITY of good quality sounds I've heard only exist in Giga (and EXS24) and wonder who else experiences this magic with me.

I just picked up Sam Trombones and Sam Horns, and hope to have some material up here shortly. Also waiting on Kirk Hunter Solo Strings to be dropped on my doorstep any day now too.

I really need to grab the Scarbe bass line. Nothing does piano like GigaStudio, and I also like 56 Strat.

Please... Let us know how is it !!!
The list of articulations and the demos are impressive....
I also like to know how this works in other not too expensive samplers : Vsampler3 (rc4 ou rc6) and kompakt. If you or someone else have the oportunity to test ?

For info i bought "prosampler 41 - solo strings".
The price is 49$ and there are 66Mb of samples Sad
(2 CD but 200Mb per CD and 3 times the samples set per CD !!!)
3 instruments / 4 articulations for each / and 2 velocity layers max...
All samples are mono...
It's not bad, but 49$ for this is not cheap compared to the 8Gb for 249$ of Kirk Hunter Solo Strings.

I own Gigastudio. But, I don't use it because I much prefer an "all-in-one" environment. I have a lot of giga libraries that I use in Kontakt all the time. Giga libraries and some of the newly released Kontakt-native libraries are my main sound sources for acoustic instruments. The next batch of Kontakt-native releases from EWQL looks really exciting.

There is nothing to convert. It has its own player, Kompakt by Native Instruments, and is a VSTi. I'm just waiting now for the final piece to be released to round out everything I have, the VSL Pro Edition so I can grab the Pro version of the Percussion library and be done for now.

Oh, no problem. I was seriously looking at London Solo Strings too that should be out right about now if the release date didn't slip. But that was going to be $499 instead of $249, and didn't look like it gave you THAT much more. There was tonal differences between the violins, but I liked the overall tone for both, so it didn't matter to me. Plus, I really wanted the 'over the top' Romantic Violin as well that London didn't have. Once I got some space on panicnow, and bounce some of these tracks down, I'll post some examples for sure.

Believe me, I know that already. I've read their site from top to bottom.

I'll click the 'add to cart' button as soon as I make sure I can load it on Giga Very Happy

René

Ummm. I would not underestimate René if he is determined to get those samples into Giga. Cool

I'm blown away from the quality of many of the giga samples (from the demos, anyways) but I'm nervous to drop that much money on a set not knowing how well they'll import into Kontakt.

If I'm on the line between several sample sets (e.g. looking at three or four piano sets), I'll choose the one with native Kontakt support over the one that needs converting.
