Okay, I saw the announcement three days ago and just figured I'd sit tight and would probably get it via email. No? How to get the beta?
What are your burning questions, Oskari?

Go to www.jeskola.net/xs1/beta and follow readme.txt instructions.
If all it is correctly done you will have a new file called Jeskola XS-1 Beta. I have been running it since a few days ago and it works like a charm, very smooth and zero crashes.

Thanks, guys! I just assumed, since you can't get the registered version from the website, that the beta would come via email too. I'll check it out.

Now the XS-1 subjet is raised, i'm wondering if it is possible when you load a soundbank to do so that it is usable(when loaded once) for every part. Typically, i'm wondering if i can load once a huge Gm bank for instance for it to be triggered by various midi channels.
Actually what i figured out so far is that i had to load the bank again for each part to assign to each relevant midi channel. This wouldn't a big issue if disk streaming was possible..... Any idea? i'm sorry for the obscure explanation, it's pretty tricky to explain. Thx

When I uninstalled an older demo of XS-1 about a month or so ago it deleted a windows file that caused several problems such as the FM7 not functioning. It only took me about 5 minutes on the web to find and re-install the missing file(the name of which escapes me at the moment-a .dll I think) but it was a hassle I would not like to repeat.I just wanted to share this with everyone in case it might help. The same problem may not happen to others or with current versions but I thought it worth mentioning. |
