Thanks for the words topaz, it just rubbed me the wrong way to see all those downloads and no one was kind enough to take 30 seconds to say thanks for letting us know and sharing.

I didn't even make the plug, Mik did....but I do pay for my site and take the time to upload the synths with my 56er modem and that's a lot of work!

I always thank, cause I feel it's important to recognize peoples efforts.

It's time consuming work.

10nX for this little Drum Kid
Just downloaded it, looks & sound nice Smile

a few suggestions:
the overall level is quit low, or is it just me?
maybe add an overall filter, controled by BPM sync LFO
a little distortion unit would be great

and hats all
Very Happy

P.s.
the GTG 3 Demo links on your site, does not work

Anyone who dld's without a word of thanxx is rude AND lazy!!
Freeware developers,(those that host them), deserve a bit
of praise for all their efforts on our behalf......yes, the scene
is saturated, but that's no excuse and, if we don't treat these
guys with the love and respect they deserve, it may not be
saturated for long. BTW....love Mik's synths, can't wait to check
out this one!

Sometimes it seems human beings ruin and abuse all the good things given to them, then the few good people have to also pay for those who are greedy and inconsiderate.

But the few good I am very thankful for and that is why I continue to do it, thank you for your replies.

I'll be shure to let Mik know too. Smile

Hi Mik,

I downloaded your Drum Kid very recently and gave it a workout on one of my tunes. I quite like the hats, kick and snare and your interface works fine for me. So thanks for your efforts.

Personally, I would not get too alarmed about people taking some time to respond to your work. You might find their considered responses more worthwhile than something they tossed off in 30 seconds shall we say.

The fact that you posted this for download and bitched about the lack of response on the SAME day ...
Perhaps I am getting old but I would definitely wait, say 36 hours, before going thermonuclear about the lack of response.

Eg

just remember that if you have kids, they will have to put up with 10x as many morons as you. don't do that to a sentient being.

"Once, a boy named Mr. Me bemoaned a great regret" - TMBG

Rule number one: lower your expectations. The internet world is big and faceless. It's much easier to not thank people when they seem both far away and unreal. Besides, maybe these people are doing what I tend to do: download stuff while at work in the morning, burn it to a CD at the end of the day, take it home and get around to installing it a few days later.

But this reminds me: there are a lot of developers that I should be sending a little thank-you note to. I normally think of unsolicited messages as being rude and inconvenient, but I guess in this case it would be appreciated, wouldn't it? Embarassed

OMG...what an infant! Dude literally puts his mediocre SE drum machine on the web for downloading at midnight. Not five hours later, he posts a fuckin' hissy fit tirade aimed at downloaders who didn't kiss his ass soon enough. Unbelievable. Drumatic 2 is a much better SE drum synth and I fuckin' guarantee you that its author didn't wait by his computer anxiously hitting the refresh button awaiting praise. That E-phonic dude, Drumatic 2's creator, made it for himself initially, then decided to share his brilliant creation with the rest of us. Not once did he explode into a temper tantrum because his craving for INSTANT feedback wasn't satisfied. His patience paid off when word of mouth got out about how brilliant D2 was. Soon, overwhelmingly positive feedback flooded the forums and review area.

I actually welcome more free drum VSTi's, SE or not. But I'll pass on Mr. Me's latest creation after seeing what a cry baby he is ("It's not online anymore," "Now it's online"). To the fuckin' barnhouse with that nonsense.

dl'd, installed, played with it for 2 minutes in acid pro. looks good. i am definitely going to use it.

two requests - trigger indicators (good call) and a velocity response switch with three settings: normal (as it is now), accent (only has 2 velocity levels - any incoming midi velocity 0-63 plays at half volume (adjustable) and midi velocity 64-127 plays at full volume), and off (all midi velocities trigger sounds at loudest setting)

btw i do think you are a little crazy for getting upset about posting a link and not hearing back from anyone in a few hours. try a few days. it's a big internet.

I agree 100%...i mean, there are different time zones in the world too you know...you were very impatient mr me....I downloaded it and didn't comment purely because it sounds crap, like most of the synths on that page...so i actually thought i wasn't being rude by staying silent..if I had had any use for it I would have jumped in with a big thanks straight away as I always do..but sinc eyou asked for people to say something...

Lucky bastard. I'll be spending the day in our shitty "air conditioned" (OH YES?) office. The air conditioning actually recycles the air in the building, so it just gets hotter and hotter and carries every disease in the place. Bloody brilliant.

I laughed the iced tea I was drinking straight through my nose when I read this.

I think this kind of honesty is refreshing and well deserved given the creator's inexplicable rant against KVR members ("I'm not here to serve you!" What the fuck does that mean?!)

Note to SE synth makers: better make sure that GUI is sexy as hell and your synth sounds hella impressive before you start acting like you're the new Bob Moog.

Mr Me quoth Do you eat dinner at someones house and not say thanks?

Do you buy products at a supermarket and not eat them immediately?

What would your reaction be if the manufacturer phoned you up five hours later and complained you hadnt said 'thanks' for making it available to you?

I dont know what you were expecting, but giving people five hours to download, install and adequately test a synth, then log on to thank you for making them available is not a particularly patient approach. And the followup makes a less than favourable impression.

You're not really doing Mik, the developer, any favours here, y'know. Quite the reverse, unfortunately.
