damn I m getting mad !
does anybody know a trick to be able to select all the regions of an instrument in the mapping editor and then put them to "one shot" mode...? this mode is only accessible (to my eyes) by selecting the regions one by one and then assign them in the loop editor... should be another way any "drum mode" like in Halion ? ok thanx for your help guys ! Probably there's no other way...but I could be wrong. Did you ask the same question at the NI forum?

I don't have Kontakt in front of me, but isn't it possible to assign the regions to a "group" then you any edits affect all members of that group?

i tried that it only seemed to set the last sample in one shot mode..

theres no way to change loopmode to several zones at once. The fastest way to do it is to go into structureview and "view the zones", then in the structuretree select them one by one with the loopeditor open.

No, "Edit All" doesn't work in the loop editor.
Dr. headache, what kind of drum kit are you trying to modify? I'm curious because switching all the samples from looping to one shot doesn't make sense to me.

I agree it would be nice to do this for many Groups simultaneously. __________________ B.duffy Multimedia Designer THEmedia http://www.palebluedot.ca 15-08-2003 16:15 Dktr Headache Registered: Aug 2003 Location: Posts: 4 the drum mode in Halion lock all the keyzones of a program (called "instrument" in Kontakt) in one shot loop mode by one click.... I can t figure to use Kontakt seriously if each time I want to load a drum kit I have to burn my eyes by selecting one by one every freakin' regions to put them on "one shot".... Am I the only one that had this problem when they are at version 1.2.1 ??? anybody can light my fire or show me an alternative? thanx 15-08-2003 23:21 bduffy Registered: Jul 2002 Location: Vancouver, Canada Posts: 757 I guess I don't know what the advantage of "One Shot" is as compared to "Off"; pretty much any drum sample you bring in is not going to be looped (unless you're ripping soundfonts), so when you drag the sample onto the Mapping Editor, it's ready to go - no loop is set. I don't recall using "One Shot" ever in my history of owning Kontakt...is there a reason why you'd have to set the sample to One Shot instead of just "Off"? __________________ B.duffy Multimedia Designer THEmedia http://www.palebluedot.ca 15-08-2003 23:30 Dktr Headache Registered: Aug 2003 Location: Posts: 4 When you let the loop mode set to "off" you have to keep the note pressed to hear the sound go to it s end... When I m programming drum and that I trigger the notes via the midi editor I don t want to put larger notes or smaller notes depending on the sound I m pressing ... I just want to keep everything quantize and be sure that every sounds of my kit will play all the way to it s end... that 's why you need to put every regions in one shot.... no ? 16-08-2003 20:31 ddas Moderator Registered: Jul 2002 Location: www.daviddas.com Posts: 317 Yes -- that's exactly what oneshot does -- plays samples all the way to the end. This is typically what you would want to use for most drum programming. No one wants to hear a kick or snare or (worse) cymbal hit that abruptly and unnaturally cuts off in mid-sound. There are exceptions. You may want to program hi hats, for example, to auto-mute each other, because in the real world, a closed hi hat would mute a ringing open hi hat. If you're working with a large drum patch, it can be overly tedious to put every single zone into oneshot mode. As an alternative, consider using an AHDSR envelope or a flexenv -- carefully programmed to make all samples ring to the end. If you use one of these, you can avoid having to choose oneshot for every single zone. 16-08-2003 20:49 Dktr Headache Registered: Aug 2003 Location: Posts: 4 ok thanx for your help ddas I still can t believe that I post my problem on the Kvr forum and here and that it took about 2 weeks before anybody understand the (pretty major) utility of "one shot" mode....am I the only one who play drum with Kontakt ? the enveloppe alternative could make the run but I was more searching for something to accelearate the workflow in Kontakt and it seem that there's no way out for people who want to use large drum kit efficently... I really don t want to bitch Kontakt too much 'cause it s a pure beast but I think that we put the finger on a dolorous part of the sampler and that it really should ring a bell in the programmer's office.... no ?
