Hi there
We are nearly at the beta testing of our Dicer loop-slicer, here's an example of Dicer messing up a loop http://www.concretefx.com/dicer.mp3 ![]() The full version should be out in the next couple of week Cheers Jon : ConcreteFX

That sounds pretty cool, especially when mixed with the sound of an ice cream truck going by outside your window, as it was for me just then. 'Music Box Dancer' never sounded so funky!

Will it have multiple outputs for the slices? If so, how many?

i hope that you'll implement something like "fill gaps" in fruity slicer.

Hi there
About the queries, Dicer will have 4 output channels and you can send each slice to different channels, about fill gap you will be able to export the slice positions to a midi file so there shouldn't be any spaces between sounds Cheers Jon: ConcreteFX

I hope the actuall GUI is smaller than that.
Is this taking over where Phatmatic left off?

What would be nice is if you can make the slice window the full size of your screen like Orion's groove slicer. It's much faster to edit slice positions and such when not working in tiny windows. I like the nice large interface too. It's easy to see everything which means it will be faster to work in. Phatmatik's jumbled, small, dark interface was the worst part about it. Next to the awful custom browser. I hope this one will have a normal "windows" type browser.

Wow, looks good. | ||

I think it's your cleanest, best looking GUI to date, Jonathan. I was thinking you should make your products skinnable so that other talented photoshop geeks (or wannabees like myself) could make something awesome while you concentrate on the code... But this one's darn good-looking in its own right!

Hi there
Thanks for the feedback. About the visual look I was trying for quite a clean gui similar to tracktion which I think has a very nice interface. Dicer will use the normal windows file input / output (I also thought that was custom file system in in Phatmatik quite annoy). Full size sample window is a good idea, I'll have to look into that Cheers Jon : ConcreteFX

and youre almost there - i too think this is your best gui so far - looks less 'toylike' [not a good term but the best i can come up with] than the other synths etc just the knobs spoil it slightly for me - something more like the 'pie-chart' knobs that i [and land of cockaigne] have used for synthedit stuff would fit better i think being able to skin the plugs WOULD be cool though - wouldnt mind having a go myself tbh if this slices as well automatically as pHATpro youll have another customer for it - the breakpoint envelopes would be VERY cool on a tool like this i think will it support drag n drop export of the midi files ??? slainte

Hi there
Iit will have the ability to save the current slices as midi file, so you can split up the loop, save the midi files and then load that file in a sequencer. Cheers Jon: P.s. the dials may be changed in the final version |
