AuthorTopic: Disco DSP Discovery vs Nord Lead

Hi

I'm looking for a vsti that can give me the nearest possible reproduction of the nord lead sound. I see Discovery can load nord patches, but I wondered if anyone has actually auditioned it next to a nord. I already have synth1 which does quite a good job, but I am unable to get it working with my midi controller.

I am not too fussed about features or the ability to make complex patches, I just want that clean analogue/digital nord sound in a fairly simple gui.

Thanks

Flap

The original Nord Leads are so cheap now (second hand), as are Micro Modulars, it's worth forking out for the real thing.

I have a micro modular and it was well worth the £200 asking price. And yes, it does sound better than Discovery. You won't get those crispy Nord Filter sounds anywhere else. Smile

Discovery is great sounding. play with the demo a bhit and see for yourself. I don't think there's really a need to go buy a Clavia when you don't have to...

The Nord Modular sound is quite different from the Nord Lead sound. I for one would never give away the Nord Lead, but I've rarely used the Nord Modular for its sound - now I've sold it.
