It'll definitely happen sooner or later. But it looks as though Roland's approach to plugins is you can only use them with their DSP breakout box type thingy, which I suppose is logical to prevent piracy and to save computing power.

Or maybe laziness: resell the same hardware in a different box.

I could just be talking out of my ass. I'm drunk as hell right now. Razz

Anyway, the JP8000 was only a VA of the original JP8........now, if they release a convincing sim of the real thing I would really be interested! One of their hardware boxes containing plugs of a Jupiter (preferably 4, 6 and Cool and a System100 would sell.........but no doubt they'll put in sims of those modern classics (not) ....MC303s ha! Or worse still...Junos.

The VariOS has a virtual Jupiter 8 that's pretty damn good.

They don't call it a virtual Jupiter 8 though, and for good reason - It's not. Jupiter-like would be more apt. Maybe they'll update it to be more accurate. I wouldn't hold my breath though. Good luck to them with selling their expensive dongle.. they'll need it.
