Hello!
I'm trying to figure out public opinion, which is important. See the poll, and feel free to add comments. Thanks, George.

Well, I'm making some money from other stuff (consumer), which gives me a freedom to choose

Come in to chat - i wanna talk to you about something

I admit I am not a fan of the epiano, and would love to see the rhodes module, but I am more interested in realistic drum sounds, it seems as though the compression you use adds a smooth character to the sound, and would be curious to see what it sounds like on drums, the bass module sounds great.
I would also be interested in more control on the commercial versions...

a Rhodes Module
the only problem is > there are more than 1 classic rhodes sound so we would at least nead a Bright and Mellow version. Topaz

It's not the compression, in fact, there is no explicit compression there. It's me who adds smooth character.

Hi! Excuse my english... (horrible)..
I like your modules, and i use them "Live"---> Gj!!! 4 your question, my answer is the Rhodes one. There isnīt 1 good free rhodes... We need 1!! Save us!! Greetings...
| S_A_P | Posted: 22nd August 2003 16:37 | |
I was under the impression that you used some sort of compressed audio files to reduce the size of the plug?
| duke4e | Posted: 22nd August 2003 17:42 | |
DRUMS!!!
and try to make them as much "heavy" as you can!! there are few only metal/hardcore/hard rock drum sets, so this whould be good addition to my collection

A MAC version of them
please, please, please...
| ouroboros | Posted: 23rd August 2003 01:13 | |
thank you very much for your work. I really enjoy the bass model. What I really hope for are horns! Loud brassy horns with just enough sass to turn up my butterfly collar, be it sax, trump or trombone.

Wow I voted drums as well.I'm suprised by the demand for heavy acoustic drums here.Sample developers please take note!
| eDrummist | Posted: 23rd August 2003 09:29 | |
Of course, with a name like eDrummist, what else would you expect from me than drums?
Realistic acoustic drums would be great. Forget about file size, just focus on quality. There can never be enough good drum kit multisamples. However, I'm often not satisfied with the cymbal selections, so I would humbly suggest including the following: 14" and/or 15" Hi Hats 20" Ride 22" Ride 20" China 18" Crash 16" Crash 10" Splash 8" Splash Also, it would be great to have snare choices. Sonic Implants does this with their Blue Jay kits, it's very nice. I have (public domain) wav files of cymbals. Email me if you want something. - eDrummist

Voted "Other (please, post a message)", because you forgot the option
"Get Mac versions of existing modules done."
| smart | Posted: 23rd August 2003 10:10 | |
Yes, I should have voted other and made it for Xylephone, Marimba, harp, something different that's more hard to find
| opiadream | Posted: 23rd August 2003 10:21 | |
I'll second the harp suggestion.
| gyohng | Posted: 23rd August 2003 10:50 | |
Well, I'm not going to satisfy every drummist. As for freeware, I plan to release single drumset, that will have dense drums. Kicks and snares will sound acoustic, but will not be pure acoustic by themselves. Snare will sound this way: http://www.yohng.com/snare1.wav
| amoebe | Posted: 23rd August 2003 11:22 | |
A good vibes module! I got plenty drum kits already.
| griels | Posted: 23rd August 2003 12:04 | |
Another vote for brass. Don't try sax unless you are confident you can bring something new to the table though
| loomchild | Posted: 23rd August 2003 12:14 | |
Whatever you'd choose would be really nice. However, for any of the proposed instruments, i would be necessary to have a few controls available. At least an enveloppe controler.
| kevvvvv | Posted: 23rd August 2003 12:29 | |
Voted drums | ||
| soma | Posted: 24th August 2003 06:34 | |
Vibraphone!!! | ||
| CaptainMark | Posted: 24th August 2003 08:34 | |
I also voted for drums. I would be particularly interested in realistic high-hats and rides. There are many good samples out there, but I don't know of any that take into account that a real highhat will sound differently with each hit even if the drummer plays them with the same "velocity".
This is, of course, true for all parts of the kit, but the absence of these "random" variations is most noticeable with hats, rides, and to a lesser extent, snares. And by the way, keep up the good work, George, you're doing a grand job! |
