Whats New

Add full VST and VSTi support. A VST and VSTi Bridge allows a multichannel and multiinstance connections to a VST Host.
Add complete new effect unit with Reverb, Pitch-Shifter and Scratch-Delay.
Add and change the Vapor Modulations. Grains can now overlap in each Generator. Pause is replaced by Start (the time the next grain starts). Speed can be negative now. This allows scratch effects during longer grains. Reverse is changed to Sweep: With Sweep it possible to change the speed of the grain during the grain processing. Pan and Volume now also works with the Multichannel Outputs. All Modulation depths are given with absolute numbers. The Depth and Cloud Modulation is total decoupled. Add Cloud Phase Fader.
Add a special Physical-Model Wheel simulation to Faders. This allows better adjustment of smaller values. Use it with the mouse or with the mousewheel.
Add automatically loading in Loadlist after a specific time. Loadlist Time and Morphing Time will be saved with crusher sheets.
Add DirectShow Support for Input Files. Now you can use any Media File (including mp3, avi) ect. on Sampler.

I tried Crusher some time ago, several years ago in fact.
I found that the interface was nigh-on unworkable and very confusing, but that it could produce some pretty cool sounds.
Until today I had pretty much forgotten about it.

Yes, €129 is a bit steep, & my main question would be whether it's granular capabilities excel Reaktor's (which I already own).

crusher x

tried it several times in the past and i managed to get some very lovely sounds from it
is cool but also a bit uncontrolable - the interface was ok with me but i want to be able to trigger output at anytime
when i want a signal to fade i want it to fade as fast as i want it to fade
when i want a soundsignal to sweep i want it to sweep as slowly and crispy as i want it
there were simply to many uncontrollable processes going on which made this killer aplication not unusable but atleast hard to use

After splashing out 4 trilogy, which hasn't arrived yet i can't think about my next purchase for a while, but this thing had potential. Maybe crusher has fixed its interface to make it more accessible? Feedback appreciated Help

seems the demo only works for about five minutes, then you have to reload. that's not time enough for my eyes to adjust to the gui.

Can't figure out how to make it work in Tracktion as an 'instrument' or an 'effect'. As an effect, it's totally ignoring anything input to it and instead playing whatever's in the scene. Some sorta wonky rewire-ish type thing that's not tempo-sync'd and doesn't seem to work seems fairly unreasonable.

Then again, I might be the one who just doesn't get it. It's a shame because I really enjoy the standalone, and proper integration would be a hellovalotta fun.

Wooooooooooot !! Cool
I suppose I have to pay my 59 euros upgrade fee ! Very Happy
Yes, it's not cheap but it's grain hell !

Be very, very careful while tweaking if you don't want to be deaf Exclamation

5 min only demo ? Surprised

I'll write a mail ...

This one is very challenging : require a F-16 valid licence ! Wink

The 3D killer display helps a * lot * but you should better read the manual ... many times ! Embarassed

I don't think it steps on Reaktor 4 ...

But again, by far the most challenging I have encountered !

Ahead of our brains and CPUs ! Laughing
