Why? Anything vintage analogue goes. Smile
Especially if they're hard to find or/and comes with a unhealthy price-tag. Crying or Very sad

I'v made an ensemble in Reaktor emulating the Synthex (minus the sequencer) - havn't uploaded it to the user library yet, but I will in a few weeks..... working on the patches. But you'll need Reaktor or Reaktor Session to use it...

There are some mp3 of the Syntex on the web, can't remember where. Also the manual is available on www.oldschool-sound.com

I suppose it was a fantastic synth in the begining of the 80's - stable osc, built in chorus, dual/layered sound, easy to use poly sequencer, poly synth with HP/BP filter - but just about what most VSTi's have today. Only unique feature is the audio modulated PWM. But it is a very nice synth... well designed.

Tassman 2 had a pretty cool Synthex emulation. It never made it to Tassman 3 though;some of the modules used to build it aren't there anymore.

I have uploaded an ensemble in the Reaktor user library called Synthecs.

Remember - this is not a VSTi - you got to have Reaktor or Reaktor session to be able to use it...

I have a soundfont from Hammersound, and some Akai-format samples (wav + .akp files) I got from another site (Hollowsun? not sure) that I made into a soundfont.

Edit: here's the links:
