I was wondering which samplers can load .AKP files. I know that Virtual Sampler does it, but are there any alternatives? HALion can't, as far as I know and Kontakt couldn't either, regarding to this thread:

There's a few that will import from an Akai format CDROM,but Virtual Sampler's the only one I can think of that will import AKPs from anywhere, and not just a CDROM.I could be wrong, though(and I hope I am)

Use Awave Studio to comvert to sf2 for exemple then import into what ever.

Thanks for all your suggestions!
I tried the shareware version of Awave Studio. Nice program! Although it doesn't have HALion support. By the way, it seems that SF2 is only mono? But what about Kontakt, any experiences with newer versions?

To do the stereo it hards pan each mono sample to a channel. A bit tricky but 100% working. Also good for individual sample points.

Ah I get the picture, but Awave Studio doesn't do that automatically unfortunately.

Yeah it does, i forget where it is, but I think it's in the instrument processing wizard.. do a split stereo channels to dual mono..

why is supporting .akp programs such a problem? i thought akai support WAS supporting .akp programs from akai roms.
i'm in the market for a sampler after selling my akai s6k, my precious cd-rom collection better not go to waste. i had my sights on kontakt or halion because friends use these. damn! are you sure neither support .akp programs?
