Whoa. Someone's been busy! And I guess now that the GUI is in place, there are no more free betas? Wink

And you made a list of my favourite notes!

thanks mates,

yes old school somehow, but I always wanted
one step sequencer where you can actually play
the randomization, so now I made it!

Yes in this machine you can modify EVERYTHING while it runs, even the set of notes used for randomization : Favourite Notes.
Randomization is musically wheighted.
Extremely addictive and hypnotic.
Pitch pattern is rooted by the MIDI note played.

Other features to add.

Realtime Selective Randomization:

-micromono- RSR could be the release name
about December at Nusofting site

anyway the solo -micromono- with the other GUI
will be released too.

About beta, I'm thinking about if it's good to keep the free beta way or to select some betatesters.
Let's see the requests.

Do you want responses here or by private message? Just checked this out and was very impressed (actually got some time to do some today YAY Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy )

My only request would be someway to adjust the tempo based upon a ratio to the sequencer tempo, would this be possible??????? Or is it possible and I just don't understand how????????

Michael

it's ok to post here too,

ratio to host tempo is not implemented yet but very easy to add, which numbers are most useful to you?
I guess you'd run it at half or double tempo , /2 and x2, and?

rob ok, I'll add you to the list,

BTW no SSE in my code, so far,
also this is an early beta so not really optimized

I would definitely like to beta test this very cool instrument!

At least but perhaps even more extreme ratios as well, perhaps even up to *4 and /4. The sound of this thing reminded me so much of Dark Side of the Moon, and in particular "On the Run " that I would love to be able to really accelerate the hell out of a sequence compared to the host tempo.

Would it also be possible to have the tempo accelerate/decelerate function also midi controlable?

By the way, the ability to get that sound just about makes this thing my all time favourite off anything you have done so far. This little synth is simply great.

how bout just the sequencer to output midi? That way it could be used with any synth.

thanks, I love it too and I think that everyone who likes iterative electronic patterns will love it

yes, that could be a good version, just so far I enjoy the integrated machine, maybe next

Good dems ... especially liked delay.mp3.

All that sound from one riff. Cool machine.

Brian Eno should own one.

(you hearing this, brian?)
liqih
Posted: 26th October 2003 22:16
is Brian Eno onn this forum?! <wink>

glad youy like it kevvv, delay.mp3 is also my favourite, 6 minutes of music just turning two knobs and clicking one button, not bad for lazy guy like me <grin>

Hey, man.
Just wanted to let you know that this thing is really wicked. Very different character, but also very usable. Just what the doctor ordered, I think. I feel like it is time for some different machines, some new ways of doing things, and it is way cool to see you doing just that. And we get to watch you do it, and play with it as it's being developed!!! Very Happy
And while I am at it, three cheers for microrock too; Very Cool. Got some great sounds out of it, and it is free too. What more can I ask? Thanx liqih. Next time I am on the coast, I am gonna find you, and shake your hand!!! Laughing

I have only played with this briefly, but so far it seems VERY cool! Surprised Some great ideas in this thing. I'll send you an email when I've had some more time with it, liqih (like tonight), but I just wanted to get this back on to the front page.

wow, looks and sounds very cool indeed....Liquh you must have been very busy lately, with all the cool new things you are coming up with!

I've just sent you an email, I'd like to request a chance to beta this thing....

Cheers,

Mike

BTW, I didn't notice it at first, but the Realtime Selective Randomization is WAY cool. One of the coolest additions to a VST in a long time, IMO. Surprised

I look forward for your e-mail.
Horray for Realtime Selective Randomization <grin>

Laserguided thanks man, yeah very busy here,
sending the file now

hey Liqih -

(damn, sorry for always misspelling your name 'Liquh' Embarassed Embarassed I work with a guy named Liqun, and your nick and his name have sort of melted together in my mind...)

anyway, I just barely started messing with this thing, and I'm addicted already hehe...but I had a thought...

How long until we see some of your fractal math from the Kaotica plugin work it's way into the randomization algos in the micromono synth? hehe, like I said, just a thought Very Happy

I'll get you more thoughts on this killer little synth later on after I get a bit more time to play with it... I will send you an email before I go to bed, probably about an hour before I gotta get back up for work hehehehe....

Cheers,
Mike

Being able to output midi and send it to other synths would be way cool. Sounds like it might be a very fun thing to play with in a live improvisational setting too.

I only have one request: delay level! It's a very cool delay, but I don't like the all or nothing.

Okay okay, I have one more request: LFOs.

Here is a little (emphasis on little) something that I whipped up real quick. Actually, it took me longer than I wanted it to, but that was the drums. The micromono track is just two notes! The first half of its sequence stays the same, but the second half is randomized.
liqih

sweet old skool with "micromono RSR", LM-9 as drums, and micromono as bass

http://nusofting.liqihsynth.com/examples/two_beats.mp3

Laserguided, no problem for the spell, btw Liqum must be chinese?

fractal generation in RSR is planned <grin>

Liondream, yeah live improvvistion is surely a way to go with RSR,

MIDI out, yes but not soon, I saw how I can do that,
but it takes time I don't have now.

pough, delay level is coming allong with other features I'm implementing,
and many thanks for the mp3, more please <grin>

Indeed, micromono is proving to be a total blast! Loads of fun...

Liqih...indeed my friend Liqun is Chinese.. and he's a kickass coder too! I keep hassling him to learn DSP but sadly he's not interested in music very much.

Did you get my email about micromono and the 'clicks'?

Cheers,

LG

yes got the message and fixed already, actually
it was known <grin>, I had still to implement a release stage for pattern off,

now it's done but I wanna add more features before next beta, so be patient.

thanks,
