AuthorTopic: Automating drum kit making

Here is what I want to do. I have drum samples recorded at different velocities. Say I have a snare recorded at 12 different velocites. I want to be able to open up those 12 files at once and have the software create the velocity layers and just divede the 127 possible velocities by the number of samples. I own battery. The output format is not really important, I also own Awave Studio, so I can create any kind of sampler files I want (Lm4 most compatible). The closest thing that I have seen was making a template sample and replacing the waves. Has anyone else here ever had the need to do what I am doing?

I think what I am looking for is a drum kit creator/editor

I wasn't sure what forum this should go in, move as needed.

Probably not what you want to hear, but doing it by hand is will probably give you better results. Often, dividing the velocity range evenly between the samples is not the best way, especially with fewer samples. You will probably want to tweak the ranges for the best result. Still, i do understand the usefulness of what you're looking for, but i don't know of any such software.

I don't know if Battery can do this, but DR-008 and Kontakt most definitely can... provided the samples are named suitably (for example snare01..snare15), the sampler will auto sort and auto map the files by Velocity.
