Albino seems to be nice for leads, it's on my Christmas list!

V-Station is not bad either if you listen to what these guys can do! : http://www.vengeance-music.de/Virus2/eng/indexesHTML/indexHOME.html

What made you put Oddity and V-Station into one line for voting?

Tranceinstitute, what made you put Oddity and V-Station into one line for voting?

Zeta by far is the best vst for trance leads. Nothing comes close to the incredible sounds it can produce , and the filters are just insane. here is a demo tune not yet finished using zeta for the lead.

Tuff question! It has nothing to do with quality of the synths. Just to spare a few lines. Very Happy

For a freebie, buzzroom's Lallapallooza should also be considered, especially as v2.0 has an arpeggiator

yeah, but v-station and oddity are two REALLY different beasts.
v-station ist great for trance, maybe the best all the synths listet above, but oddity is not a trance synth, not at all.

You name it! That's exactly why I was asking...

I also have to give superwave (lead) credit here. its outstandingly fat but nonetheless powerfull and not washed out at all. albino (lead/pad) and synth1(fx) would follow next along with v-station(lead/pad/bass) and good old p53(lead/bass). in brackets: what for I made use of them so far in my tracks.

Ps: for those really mean hc-type of sounds I often go back to malström from reason 2.0. does anybody know which vsti can easiest produce similar sounds? Its a shame because malström is exactly what I am missing in my vst rack Confused

Hi,

I see we have a lot of dance music producers here! Smile

We have been creating sounds for daAlfa2k for some time now and think that at it's price range it is one of the best VSTi's for dance music (basses, leads etc.). It does cover other genres as well but for dance music you wouldn't go wrong at this price range.

If you did want to buy daAlfa2k then you can buy it together with our entire range of soundsets for $10 off the usual selling price. You will get the daAlfa2k VSTi plus 640 sounds (5 x 128 presets) from www.Pro-Sounds.net for only $69.95 giving you a total of over 850 presets, most of which are suitable for dance music.

Thanks,
Pro-Sounds

Since I rarely use commercial vst, I have to synth 1 for sure at the top of the list. The superwave8 is high on the list for some of it's presets. Galactix get's a mention also for some straight outta the box trance sounds.

Mighty, what patch did you use for your Albino track? I love those types of bass / basslines...

Synth1

http://home.att.net/~vitamind/files/VitaminD-Synth1_demo.mp3

A little something I whipped up this evening to display Synth1.. actually I was making a demo of my Synth1 preset bank, then saw this thread and decided to steer more the trance way. Smile

Everything you hear is Synth1.. no extra fx or processing was done (outside of converting the file to mp3 Razz)

Its pretty versatile for its size (and price) I must say Smile

No-ones mentioned Triangle 2 yet!!!

Superwave and Synth1 and def the best synthedit synths I've heard yet, perfect for trance(when i feel like making it Cool )

Personally i prefer the harder style of things so I go for a cool distortion plug called Tridirt quite a lot to mash up kickdrums and tau.

Also a decent tempo delay called scuzzphut is useful.

Triangle II is a good one.. but not really that versatile with it being monophonic.. (how are you going to create those giant pads.. link up about 5 of them?? Very Happy)

oh and.. SYNTH1 WAS NOT CREATED WITH SYNTHEDIT.

Still quite a few people who dont believe this.. If you're pulling 'Synthedit' off the Synth1 page, thats because its stating that the developer fixed some issues with using synth1 INSIDE synthedit. Confused

erm....it's a bassline synth Exclamation

Anyway, I have to defend it seeing as though I was quoted once in FM magazine for saying it was the best thing since sliced bread Very Happy

erm.... no duh Exclamation

you (re)made my point. He was looking for versatile synths.. I like triangleII as well.. but its not really all that versatile unless you need something thats monophonic.. P1 would be a better suggestion imo. Wink
