Hi All

On behalf of Accordance Music Systems, I was wondering if any developers here would be interested in acquiring the IP , investing in support and development of the Hotz MIDI Translator Technology.

(alt+p)

( hope this image works...first time I've done this:-)

While this is a stand-alone MIDI application, my hope is that it would be taken to the next level and developed into a VST1.

Just a little history: This technology was started by producer, musician Jimmy Hotz in the late 1980's. He got Mick Fleetwood ( of Fleetwood Mac) to help invest. A futuristic MIDI controller was marketed as well as the software by Atari. There were many users including members of Tangerine Dream and Yes.
A PC version was coded which expanded on the original Atari version. Accordance Music Systems took over the technology where they have developed other products for it. See http://www.accordance.net/.
Through my efforts, with the help of Jimmy Hotz, in conjunction with Accordance, I was able to get the Atari version released as freeware and is available on my site ( http://tamw.atari-users.net/hotz.htm ) You will also see pics of the Hotz Box MIDI controller. I have also started and moderate a Yahoo forum for it. The PC version is also covered. We are continuing to acquire new members.

Recently, Chuck Abronson who is the president of Accordance Music Systems has decided to close the company. However he would like to see this great technology expand and not fall into software oblivion. He asked me for help .

Having the PC version myself, I can say right off the bat that it is self gratifying right away. Load up a hotz code song, click Play and your QWERTY computer keyboard turns into a 6 channel MIDI controller that plays in perfect tune to the song. You can change instruments on the fly using the mixer graphic controls. You can get deeper and create your own Hotz coded songs. There is an on-line help tutorial as well. Further then this, a dedicated musician can have access to hundreds of different scale structures which are all playable from the computer keyboard, or a MIDI keyboard controller.

This software was ahead of it's time. Please consider keeping the flame alive for the Hotz MIDI Translator Technology. This software enables anyone to be able to play music and have it sound good, as well as a new way to look at music creation in general for the seasoned musician.A perfect development for a VSTi.

and I will put you in contact with Chuck.

Hi all ( again )

Just wondering: has anybody even heard of this before?
I am sure there are some "alternate controller/ application user here that has at least heard of it! If not, it might be something to get into as it's really cool!

I got to play on a Hotz Box once and got to borrow one for a month or so. But he wanted too much money for it ( 10 grand )It was a thrill to play on however.I actually used it to control softsynths and soundfonts.
