AuthorTopic: Beta Testers Needed for New Additive Synthesizer
WhiteNoise
Posted: 4th November 2003 14:47
Hi, I'm looking for some people who are interested in beta testing a new additive synthesizer VSTi plugin. I have a temporary page set up at http://www.whitenoiseaudio.com with a few samples and things to check out (more coming soon). If you would like to help with the testing, send an email to wnadditive-subscribe@yahoogroups.com and join the group. Once enough people have joined I'll send out instructions for getting the beta.

Dang... Additive's all the rage now...

It's nice to see additive synths get all this attention. As a K5 owner(my second one FWIW),I felt abandoned in my own little universe Sad Laughing until all these new synths came along.
A couple more for your list,Doug;
Rhino is quasi-additive(you can specify partials to a degree),as are a couple other of the ConcreteFX synths. With Absynth, you can specify amplitude and phase for the first 63 harmonics and Reaktor's got a cool multi-sine oscillator for making additive instruments as well.

Why does it have to be a Yahoo group’s thing? Every time I join one of those damn forums some bright spark decides to post tons of porn links and spam.

you can choose to sign up to get your msg's ( on the yahoo mailing list) in digest form. That way you'll only get one msg (with maybe 50 porn ads) but at least it won't clutter things up as much.
but it would seem if this is going to be a beta tester list, that there would be a moderator to control it.

alternatively.. just create a secondary spam account.. and use that to sign into yahoo groups.

Don't be cheeky or I'll actually send you some. Hint: we are ALL fat and hairy, even the women! Surprised

There have been a few good suggestions about how to control the Spam and Porn – but what of the fat hairy links Laughing

Wow, this thing looks very interesting and sounds just great. The GUI is straight forward and easy to understand, better than e.g. Vertigo or Cameleon5000, still the sounds are fresh and impressive!

Hope there will be a Mac version as well!!! (OS9 of course! Wink )

I better sign up just in case it’s better than CA5000 and Evil or Very Mad Ver**** Evil or Very Mad Laughing

I will follow the advice regarding email and hope the moderation is good – though if there is an extended break between builds I will probably leave the group in those periods.

Spe3d

I like to beta test / fuck shit up ; But I don't know enough about additive synthesis to be effective on this one... well, unless additive synths are just really flaming complex and convoluted devices for making yet ANOTHER lifeless organ sound Laughing In which case, fuckin' eh, I've got additive sussed, well and truly.
OK, well, organ sounds, and also heinous, "penny-whistle-orchestra-for-the-deaf" type sounds.
Oh yeahhhh, brilliant. Rolling Eyes

Signed up and waiting now for a response. Maybe I won't have to be so lonely without my K5000r anymore. Very Happy

I signed up but clicked the option not recieve emails, that way no junk. I check the groups from a web browser. Using your email account with Yahoo groups is fatal.

I'm also a proud K5000 owner. I think you'll find that WnAdditive can do many of the cool k5000 sounds which made it such a sweet synth, plus a LOT more in some respects. It's much easier to edit too (no more ADSR envelopes for each harmonic Wink.

BTW, I will keep a close eye on the list. I don't think there will be too many problems with spammers.

wow! Surprised

the first time I saw this post- I didn't realize how awesome the synth was!

the one-page GUI is fantastic for a synth with this much timbral complexity- and the way you can load in wavs/and raw files for spectral analysis is just perfect for my image-to-sound needs- far beyond coagula or playing with RAW audio files in cool edit or photoshop
