Is there a simple VST plugin, that is meant for playing long audio files - kind of like VST audio track. It should of course be locked to the host's position, so it would play wave at the correct position also when moving the position marker in the host - it shouldn work without having to trigger it via midi/piano roll.
Is this even possible to do in VST form? It would be great addition to midi-only VST hosts like Computer Muzys.

Damn, no demo... but does this really works like audio track, or do you have to manually start playback (I see there's a start/stop button).

how cool would this be!!
and yet, no demo and available only in a $25 package (I don't need the other plugs at all)

If it's just a wav file that has to be played, you can
use this simple wavplayer. ![]() It starts/stops playing according the host. It will not loop or repeat your files. Take care when using the "Pitch" slider. There's no way to click "reset" to initial pitch. Use your ears and judge it as an immanent DJ exercise... regards, PM _______________ latest news: african counterfeiter gang uncovered. more than 500.000 copies of "purple compressor" seized.

Well, not really. The point is that wave should be played at a correct position, like if it was on a real audio track in host's sequencer. There should be at least one control on the player - the start position of the wave, to be able to position it properly.
The problem is only that it might not be possible to get host's current position. Or maybe it is - I'm not VST programmer so I don't know.

Donno what software you you, but with Sonar (& I'm sure pretty much most others) you just drag & drop the audio file where you want it and move it around to the right timing. If you want to trigger it with midi, use cyclone, or VSampler or any other sample player. You can make it a soundfont and play it with a soundfont player, allowing you to pitch shift it, or if it is mp3 use mp3play.

I know Sonar can do this Right now the only way to play long waves in Muzys is to trigger them via midi. The problem is that this way it's not possible to start playback somewhere in the middle of the sample - it has to be triggered on the start otherwise it wont play.

Yeah, I think this is why things like Muzys are a bad idea.
Helpful, I know... | ||

Wav play2 is something I made for using in chainer (for mastering) it does not sync to host.
I know what you mean and infact have been in touch with a developer to design such a thing and more. Topaz
