OK here's a totally stupid and pointless question/thought from my exhausted brain, before I head off to bed...

What plugin has your favorite knobs? You know, the nicest to look at, the best feel.

Don't say I didn't warn you! Yes, totally stupid and pointless.

Anyway, consider it a psychology experiment. Who's knobs do you like to get your grubby little mouse pointer onto the most?

For me it's Pentagon. There's something about those knobby-knobs. The thumb and fingers fit perfectly into those little grooves Laughing The intertia-driven thing makes them feel good to turn also.

Goodnight...

Pentagon ... the inertia effect and the feeling of precision it gives is so good.

Reading your question, I immediately thought of
Pentagon as well.

I somehow like those of Triangle II quite much too

Nothing comes to mind right away, but I really like knobs that move with a linear mouse motion and ones where you can see the little position indicator thru it's full rotation. I can think of a few that bug me but that would be another post.

Mysthar those are attractive knobs you have there, and green too.

Pentagon is nice, indeed - but (I almost have to say unfortunately) for me the Emagic faders and knobs are just the best to fool around with. Consistent layout, not too small, good contrast, easy to grab, all of them behave the same, so, if you know one, you know all of them.
For some plugins I even switch to Emagic's generic plugin view and use the sliders there because in many cases they're still easier to use than some GUI-ed knobs.
Just IMO of course.

Frohmage - that big one in the middle.

In case anyone hadn't noticed, the things that make this knob so great are.

(1) When you click and drag, your mouse doesn't wander all over the page. It stays exactly where it is until you lift the mouse button again. Lovely. I have this feature in my own text-based controls (see Echographz) and also asked Peter Morris to include it in the DibKnob in dibControls.

(2) The inertia Smile Haven't a scooby-doo how to do it, but I know I love it Smile
