I installed the CS-80V demo yesterday which came with the latest issue of CM.
Very eager to try it but what do I discover? It's impossible to demo with that crappy white noise burst every 10th second or so, which actually sounds twice as loud as the synth itself! I'll either blow up the speakers or my eardrums using headphones if I really want to judge the synth. Holy cripes, have Arturia never heard of sound muting for demos instead of trying to annoy every single potential customer with this horrible white noise? Utter junk and utter disappointment. In fact it kind of makes me want to search for a warez version just in order to judge it properly. (flamebait yeah but then again I always purchase the software I use)

the same could be said for slayer 2. I was demoing its amp modelling capabilities and running my rhodes through it. However I could not make a judgement since I was not able to turn the volume up loud enough to not have the BLASTING UNFILTERED SAW WAVE blow me out of the room. I am not going to buy it until I can get a proper demo of it...

Must admit my current fave demo technique is on a VSTi I'm currently on the beta group for. Every now and then the output fades and a pleasent 'bingly bingly bong' sound fades in and a very happy sounding voice synth says 'why dont you buy me!'

watch out for that it could hypnotise you into buying it every time you hear it
maybe hes hoping to become a billionaire by haveing a few people under his control continually buying his synth theres that 3rd man again

Microtonic? GOD that drives me NUTS! I HATE it! That should NOT be in a beta version. After you hear it enough times, I just want to shoot it! I'm sure that's great and all for a demo, but not while I'm trying to break the thing looking for bugs. Devon

Ah well, just shows you cant please everyone.
I've even got used to my tracks which have a very surreal middle-8 where some vox asks you to buy the plugin

i agree. i am also a beta tester for that software and its very pleasant. i can t tell you how many demos i have DLed that had that noise blast garbage

I think the noise-blast adds character. I prefer to use the demo than the licensed version. |
