AuthorTopic: Advice - best virtual nylon acoustic guitar plug in

What's the best virtual nylon acoustic guitar plug in you've used? Soundfonts - samples? Compared with what you get in the Reason Factory library for instance. I'm limited sampler-wise to Reason, the manual-less V-Sampler in Sonar 3 and at a push DS-404. Limited is maybe not the word right enough. But hey who knows - it might force Laughing me to have to get Kontakt or Halion but my pref is for the first two or some other plug that can deliver on it's own.

soundfonts all the way for acoustic guitars

i personally use orions onboard sampler for sf2's but a lot of people hear are screaming about sfz+ as a good sf2 player

You'd be surprised but swarplug vsti (indian sample vsti) has a great acoustic guitar preset, and it sounds very convincing, even with 'strumming' chords (manually using sequencer/controller). Not sure if you'd wanna buy that just for a guitar, but yeah - i was impressed by it, best i've heard so far.

The demo of the VRSound nylon string guitar sounds very good. Still trying to find out more about this guitar myself--it sounds almost too good to be true, but one person on the Northern Sounds forum says its as expressive as the demo. A present for myself, soon.

I'm gonna have to vote for Plugsounds Vol.2 (or is it 3)Fretted instruments. Lots of guitars.

just for some quick freebies ... Plugsound Free has a nylon, and if you're on a Mac, the unlimited demo instrument with VSamp is a nylon that I like ...

Smart just dropped THIS ONE into the "Infinte free soundfont" thread, he might have meant to put it here - haven't heard these but it looks like what you might need.

As a macuser, i have few problems with it version, but if it the PC version behaves correctly i would strongly recommend it :

Plucked String (see instrument link)

(...and it's a PM, not a ROMpler ! )

P,S, ; the nylon guitar on Plugsound free sounds really cool as well
