Title says it all. Everything I've read says all three are top quality. Which is best for unnatural drums and why? Which do you prefer and why? What do you like about and dislike about each? etc.

In case anyone misunderstood, what I meant was electronic sounding drums as opposed to acoustic ones.

dr008: it has some crazy new modules in the latest build that go much further than drums...

the sound is also very good quality

not to mention its acoustic drum sampler modules which als0 can be used for messing with sampled electronic kits

As much as I love DR-008 and Attack (and would probably also love RM-IV if I had it) I would suggest that you check out MicroTonic

Waldorf Attack. Just don't expect any feature updates any time soon.

That MicroTonic has just 8 sounds per instance, and 2 outputs? Confused

Yup. 8 sounds is fine with me, but I do wish there were more than 2 stereo outs. The docs talk about 4 mono, but for practical purposes, it's 2 stereo. Do sequencers allow you to break up stereo outs? I can use energyXT to do that, but I would prefer if MicroTonic had at least a couple mono outs as well...

I must agree that the Attack is grand... but I find myself using the RM IV the most these days for that kind of stuff (and everything else). It seems to me to be the perfect compromise between the Attack and the Dr-008. It can't match the Attack for drum-synth capabilities, but it does a great job with what's there and sounds fantastic... and you can just sample what you have and mangle it further in the sampler anyways.

It's not as complex as the Dr-008, but for me that means it's much faster to work with.
