AuthorTopic: Absynth 2.0.4 with 1.0 patches?

I just tried loading an Absynth 1.0 bank into Absynth 2.0.4, and Sonar3 crashed on exit when I closed the project. However, I am able to import individual presets with no apparent ill effect. Also, the stability HAS been improved, Ab 2.0.4 launches and closes as it should, even after I violated it with patches created with the earlier version.

Just wanted to share this information in case anyone else had the same problem. Smile

Did you copy your 1.x banks to your Absynth 2 folder?
If you're browsing to them and they're still in your 1.x folder-yeah,that can happen.
The workaround if it happens again(I've had to do this with both Reaktor and Absynth in older incarnations)-save the project, then go into your SynthRack and remove Absynth,Now,exit Sonar without saving the project.Sonar closes normally then.
2.04 is a VAST improvement on both platforms Very Happy

I like to store all my patches for everything in a special directory so I know where everything is, and can easily back it up. I think I'll just leave Ab2's default patches as-is, and stick with the loading of individual patches from the older version when the need arises. It must be something about the bank file that's problematic, but at least 1.x patches can still be used. And I agree, 2.0.4 is a very nice improvement!

I had the same crashes as you did during the 2.04 beta testing, but nobody else could duplicate it.What's the system you're running?Maybe we can narrow this down and get it fixed in the next update Smile .
