hi,
has anyone tried PLP120 yet? im not normally into loops but it looks like it could be fun and, thanks to soundsonline's newsletter discount, the price is good too. (around $130.) however, im hesitant to buy it without a demo version or user reviews. thanks for the info, -ugo

Also, if I might, does anyone know what, if any, copy-protection it uses? In particular, does it use PACE?

I tried the demo version that came with the German 'Keys' magazine.
It wouldn't work on my system (1.8P4m, XP, Nuendo2), the loops would only stutter.

I bought it a couple of weeks ago, and am very pleased with it. Its certainly not another '1001 drum loops you might like 10 of...' style package The playback instrument has performed faultlessly on my setup; P4 2.8, Nuendo 2.1. Authorisation was by serial number and it did not appear to be PACE based.

thanks for the info.
i trying the VLP demo right now and its working fine for me. (AMD 1.6G, XP) the interface is simple but effective. its cool that the filters are set individually for each loop. however it seems that there is no way to modulate the filter. thats a disappointing omission. but most importantly, the loop point adjustment and pitch/speed functions seem to work very well and its dead easy to use. im really itching to try this on drums. im pleased to hear that PLP is comprised of more interesting percussion loops rather than the standards. thats really what i was hoping for. of course something like intakt or phatfactory wold offer tons of great synthesis/manipulation options, what makes me interested in PLP is that it comes with 1.5 gigs of nothing but drums and percussion samples. eastwest's operating table looks like it will be pretty cool too, though i dont know how large or diverse the sample collection is. are there any other pitch/time flexible drum loop collections that come with their own vsti's (and in a similar price range) that i should be considering instead of PLP120? thanks, -ugo
