AuthorTopic: Bizarre Synth Incompatibility...

I'm using FL Studio, and it seems that I can't use the synths Rez and Cadencia at the same time. funny because they were made by different people, although they are both synthedit plugs. Anyway, when I load both of these into a project, Cadencia doesn't sound right - it has a wobbly sound...very strange. And I think Rez doesn't sound right either, but I'm not sure - the Cadencia problem is quite obvious, though. Anyone know why this would happen?

When a VST plugin is built, it should have a 4-letter unique identifier built in. SynthEdit allows someone to set that when they convert their project into a VST, and I think it may set a default.

Not all hosts actually depend on the plugins having totally unique identifiers, but its possible that FL Studio does. Hence if these two have the same ID, they may 'conflict'. You may want to email the respective authors and check.

Thats just a thought, though, it may be a completely unrelated problem.

using directixer and logic5 i just confirmed that these two do not share vst identities, so the problem is indeed something else, probably flstudio specific

huh...interesting. i'll post this at the FL Studio site (but it's of minor importance, so it's likely that no one will care!).

thanks for the replies.
