.....is even worse than Steinberg Wink

Removed their forum and didn't even acknowledge my mail about possible date for next windows release.

I think Art could learn a thing or 2 from some of the developers here.

Or maybe he's successfully metamorphised into a complete Mac snob.....

Yeah he's a twat of the first order, like he said he only developed the plugin because he wanted the features it offered himself, so he does not really care.

Yep, this would be a perfect opportunity for an exterprising company to buy Phatmatik Pro from the guy and give it some life. It has been well-reviewed, but I think his dreams of making the program into a bunch of sample libraries via PhatFactory line (e.g. Solida Sick Synth) has come to nought, and he's bitter. It's a hard world out there, and SSS might well be a great product, but there are so many "ROMplers" (using the term very broadly) that it is hard to get noticed.

Anyway, it seems that Phatmatik Pro is just in a slow death spiral.... what it needs is a major backer. Anyone know someone who knows someone who wants to be in the "beat slicer" game??? Phatmatik would be a monster add-on to most sequencers out there..... ;D

It compares extremely well.
Big contrast in price.
Big contrast in support.

Try it, you might like it Smile

Gotta say Phatmatik is one of my favorite plugins EVER! I sure was disappointed when Art made his announcement. I think he should seriously consider selling the Windows version of this to another company that could continue to support and develop it so he can concentrate on Mac development. Art, what do you say? Sell it to Cakewalk so they can bundle it with the next version of Sonar!!! Very Happy

At least I'll be able to fall back on Dicer when Phatmatik finally goes the way of the dodo (assuming I ever decide to build another DAW).

Art, sell Windows Phatmatic to Cakewalk! Sign ze paperssss. Come on, you know you want to. Cut free of that Microsoft B.S. and devote yourself to Apple. Then you'll be free of bitter ex-Windows customers posting on BBSS forever!!!!

Now that is a good idea, if Cakewalk still needs it. Other products are moving in fast. Another alternative, he would sell it to the people at FL. Then the product would get updates but we probably would not notice a difference in customer support. Razz

Heh, I have started a thread over on the Cubase forums, suggesting that Cubase might buy the thing. I twould certainly fill a crying need in that program. Since Cubase is cross-platform, they'd want rights to the Mac version, too, I'd expect.

Now imagine Chris Farley and Adam Sandler:

Adam: Cakewalk, PLEASE buy Phatmatik pro. Just buy it. I'll wash your grandmother.

Chris: For God's sake, BUY PHATMATIK PRO cakewalk. Aihhhh...

well, as much as i don't like bitshift, i should correct here and say that they always said the version 1.x of phatmatik will be supported on pc, just version 2 and any NEW products won't be made for pc
