last night I was building up a project that ended up with 3 instances of microTera in it.
i'm familiar with after having saved the project having to reset the preset in the MicroTera's songbank. that only happens after the initial save after introducing the instance. well last night introducing the third instance, things fell apart a little and it seemed like I had to go back and reselect the preset. otherwise one or both of the instances that were already in the project were suddenly louder and distorted. resettting them seemed to cure that, but the 3rd instance I added was a multi-segment rhythmic preset of my own devising, generated from the slot machine and tweaked. well it would play only a few beats on note trigger and stop, then I'd get it to work correctly playing through the duration of the note and then it would stop. finally I used one of the multi-stage presets that came with MicroTera and things stabilized. so maybe the slot machine generates some non-standard action or i just ran into some other glitches. otherwise no problems and still getting into this even after Tera 2 finally arrived. I'm still more familiar with the free MicroTera to find what I want (not to mention the presets I've made). Unless I have more problems like this I plan to keep the free MicroTera around even with Tera 2. i was using durchgebazzt (sp?) for the bass line -- some tweaking of attack velocities here and there and this is a great bass -- recreating some semblance of 'real' electric bass (like the way a note can bloom after initial attack)-- while obviously a synth bass. and chaos brass -- very nice brass attack -- again very synthetic, but more brass character sound than I have elsewhere. mixed it with rhino using Daniel's bread'n'butter french horn section, moving the chord a fifth higher, so your basic horn section 9th chords. both of these sound better through a mix than I would have guessed auditioning them by themselves. |
