okay - ive totalled up all the votes in that other thread and the top ten are polled above to get a final winner - ive not checked release dates so if you think a plugin is not from 2003 then dont vote for it !!!

wait a minute... I appreciate energyXT, but... I don't think it's an instrument at all!
can anyone explain me?

BTW, what is the point of this thread Question

We already had a thread, and we all voted, and you just posted the results....

so now we got to vote again, with a limited choice?

Why not just say 'these are the results' Rolling Eyes

hmm I'm not sure that eXT nor z3ta were initially released in 2003, but nonetheless I cast my vote for z3ta, most flexible and inspiring virtual instrument for me.

eXT and sfz+ are close seconds I think, but I just cannot help but vote z3ta Smile

Hard to believe that an effect wins the title of "Best Virtual Instrument"!? Shocked Shit!

Peter.

I think that energyXT being a dubious instrument, and z3ta (and others) not being released on 2003, this is a completely questionable voting... Evil or Very Mad

energyXT was released in 2003, is a standalone host and a VST instrument AND a VST effect. As an instrument, it is an instrument of instruments and effects. It's just as much an instrument as many samplers are or Highlife would have been. They host and play back sounds. energyXT hosts and plays back sound generators.

Having said all that, though, I have to admit that I didn't vote for it. I didn't vote for anything. I'm not a fan of popularity contests and nothing stands out as the best to me since there were so many excellent things released last year. Also, I consider many of the developers to be friends. A vote for one of them ends up being a vote against the others.

I think it's clear now that zeta is the best because energyXT is not an instrument.. Smile It should fall more in the host category...

I thought that Xphraze was supposed to be the super-duper greatest and most innovative plug ever etc. etc. (I've never used it myself). How come no-one really ever mentions it?

Also, I don't suppose someone has ever done a poll like:

Polls - Fun or Mean?

best virtual instrument of 2003 ... the final vote...
Aint that just a stupid thread ? Stupid question...
Nothing to read in here except probably some people saying this synth is the best in the world!!! and people would reply hell no! THIS synth is the best in the world...

Pointless to have such discussions and espacially to have them sticky in a topic because they are plain STUPID.

Hi PHZ, got nothing against you of course.
Simply I and other users find such topics not contributing by any way.
Anyway, my intention wasn't to insult anyone.
Have a good day everyone Smile

Well, don't worry. Someone would have to be pretty fuckin' stupid to think that you were trying to insult anyone.

That's glory for you!

I'm also amazed at how low Rhino is being rated in this poll. It's also strange to see z3ta+ being listed when it was actually a 2002 VSTi Wink

i think the hypersynth should be really noted as far as pads are concered....pretty killer.....and as far as DXi/VSTi are concerned the NI FM7 is my choice...not 2003 but you know....man that is a tastey synth....and B4.....and edirol stuff is unbelievable...both string ensemble and Orchestral........that is what i like to see in quality.....

I want to see a Korg M1 DXi/VSTi .........

what do you guys think??? Shit! Shit! Shit!
