And if you just paid $399 for Space Designer, how would you feel? Wink Eh, they do this all the time, I've just have had it happen on a small scale, like FM7 Vol 1 Patches are now included with FM7.

NAMM 2004: Apple Streamlines Logic Product Line
January 15th 2004

The Logic product line has been drastically streamlined for NAMM 2004. What was once Logic Platinum is a comprehensive software solution for the professional musician and producer which contains the award-winning Logic Platinum 6 music production software plus the complete Apple/Emagic DSP and audio instrument product line.

Still, I don't think us PC users are missing much in the scheme of things Smile

it's a 199 upgrade regardless for v5/6 platinum/gold users.

If you own most of the plugins already you should wait for the logic pro 7 upgrade.

it sure is an amazing deal. everyone here is just pissed off because without a doubt, this is simply the best factory seq package in the world (it always was, just better now)....for me the $199 upgrade will only get me space designer, oh well, i have had much pleasurable use out of the other instruments. apple is very very clever. offering this at a price point similar to the other "big 2", but with a much much higher list of standard equipment so to speak. i think this is going to sell like hotcakes, and i think it's brilliant, and any logic basher can go to hell Evil or Very Mad

Mac logic users .. fucking choke on it ... sour grapes from an ex logic PC user.

Hey I wonder how many PC logic people payed $3000 plus to upgrade to logic 6 ?

B.
Kim Olesen
Posted: 17th January 2004 04:36
Well i for one is a logic pc to mac emigrant. The upgrade from platinum 5 pc to platinum 6 mac cost me 120 euro (and not the ridicolous amount of 3000) and they let me keep my pc licence for platinum 5, that was a pretty fair deal IMHO. So BLUEY.... let it go. Go see someone who can help you with all the hate that is inside you, please. Every logic thread you poke into gets malicious. We all know by now that you hate logic/emapple. But if you say something base it on facts, don't give us the "people who gave 3000$ to upgrade" bull.
Kim
bluey
Posted: 17th January 2004 04:40
yeah I could upgrade too in fact for free, and then pay for logic 6 too .. but I need a $3000 PC on top of that.

I remember quite a lot of mac users having a good laugh and gloating. Did you know all scientologists use apple computers, because jobs is high up in the scientologist church.

B.
Kim Olesen
Posted: 17th January 2004 04:57
Dont get me wrong bluey. I didn't think that stopping logic on pc was a fair decision by emapple either. But alas, that is how it is, and there is nothing that anybody says loving or spiteful or otherwise that's gonna change it.... And yes macs are quite an investment. But my point is; That was then, this is now. For us who had to take a choise at that time there was 2½ serious choises. Crossgrade to SX which was a real bargain for logicusers at the time. Shift to mac, maybe getting a used g3 and beef it up with, say, a g4 1 giga cpu, as i did (not that expensive either). Or stay with logic 5 on pc for a while. Even today logic 5,51 is a really good app even though it is slowly becoming outdated. Pc users who stayed on pc have many good alternatives to logic today. There is SX, Tracktion etc. So all in all the storm that rocked the DAW community 1½ years ago ought to have been laid to rest by now. Only a very few linger on about the big ripoff. Let it rest.

wow you're REALLY getting some serious vfm. besides es1 (which IS good for bass, granted), you'll be getting 4 OUTSTANDING plugins. the evb3 is still the best virtual organ ever, the evp88 is not quite as nice as LL2 but it still sure has a sweet tone and uses about a quarter the cpu. the evoc is the best software vocoder ever, and space designer, well, need i say more?
