Can anybody help me with creating my own sounds with Ganymed and Vivaldi? It's a shame no manual was created for either of them and support for them has stopped. I love fm sounds, but I could never afford a Yamaha DX of any kind. I know a little fm synthesis, but without graphic algorithms I don't know where to begin with Vivaldi and Ganymed. A little guidance would be nice.

I'm interested in this too.. maybe a mini-tutorial on FM synthesis with a focus on the Vivaldi MX..

I've never been able to program anything even remotely useable in Vivaldi. But I've heard great things about it so I want to give it a shot. I mean where are the oscillators and everything else I'm used to

Though not a programmer myself, i made some patches i liked a lot for Vivaldi MX with the help of Energy XT new patch generator..it allows you to morph between sounds in various ways and also the creation of total random sounds.
There is a small great bank for mx here on kvr and you can also use the original bank for Vivaldi (1) as base. Try it (the demo version of xt allows this, perhaps even saving), you will come to good results soon and even if it is cheating, you will have more time for the music... Vivaldi MX is just a great synth, it can sound amazingly HUGE, fatter than Superwave or anything..no wonder with 8 oscillators Kind Regards, Richard P.S. Energy XT is at www.webmassiva.com !

Hi, foosnark has written a little introduction into programming FM with vivaldi mx. You can find it here: (down the page, section "Further information") http://www.aerobig.net/vivaldimx.html Best, LaD

Ah, you saved me from having to look it up. I have Rhino but I still find myself working with Vivaldi on occasion, if I need to come at it from a different perspective. In fact, seeing this thread spurred me to go make something with it, heh.

Just stumbled on to this thread and wanted to say thanks to foosnark for the work and to lighthouse for the link. I have been a bit stymied by Ganymede, and this should help.

The two other patches at PatchArena for Vivaldi MX are titled VivaldiMX_Relayer_1 (bass patches) and VivaldiMX_Relayer_2 (lead patches). Here is the link if you are interested: http://www.patcharena.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload &cid=93
