Any VSTs out there that sync to master position, that let you arrange audio like your typical audio track?

EnergyXT might do what you like, if not now - in the near future.

energyXT might do what you want, especially when Jorgen releases 1.24 (which should be this month).

But what for??? | ||

Ok DR.
I want to make some elaborate 'mix tapes' or collages using buzz (just of instance). Just another effort to make my 'virtual studio' as grainular as possible. I forgot about XT. But last time I used the audio plaer I didn't find it quick enough to use for what I wanted to do. For instance, not too great for syncing up totally different tempo peices and then matchig their pitches and dropping a delay on just the outtro. Not too great for taking a solo and cutting it up and rearranging it in the middle of a song, or replacing it with a backwards solo from a differnt song, etc.

Ok, that makes sense. Modular VST hosts - didn't think about that.

I tried the audio part of xt in buzz but couldn't get it to make any sound. I had teh audio out hooked up to the master out and the midi in hooked to the master midi. mda epiano in xt made sound. Devine machine looks promising but not for making mixes or arranging vocals etc. And that INTERFACE

soma, trigger audio parts with midi. C1 start part1 , C#1 part 2 etc.
Btw, XT will have a new midi sequencer comp in february, and I will add disk streaming to it in march. cheers jorgen

Thanks jorgen. I was trying to use C-4.
Maybe you should allow the user to assign each sequence to a key(s) (and more than one sequence to the same key). Anyway to add time stretching and a way to handle slices/clips of a file as seperate editiable and reusable nondestructive objects?

Tried C-1 and still no sound.

soma, whats your host? xt audio part is supposed to trigger by c1 and up, you did add sample clips?

I'm using Buzz with the Polac VSt loader 1.1 I got the audio part to make music using the xt internal mdid sequencer but could not trigger samples directly from the master midi input. If you have buzz installed I can send you the file. I don't think the audio part machine is really what I'm looking for anyway though. I really don't want to have to trigger parts I need to do lots of tiny surgery to clips.

Soma,
Are you using the Standalone or VST version of eXT? Because...if you are using the VST version, then your host might be sending MIDI notes to eXT that are transposed by two octaves (FL for example). EDIT... I think Buzz does this as well - but I can't remember for sure because it's been some time since I last used Buzz. Try sending on C3 instead of C1.

I like this idea quite a bit! |
