I happened to see this so you are in luck.
Basically the very best way to control the ES2 is with Logic Control but even if you don't have that you can still automate parameter with a Remote 25 or Oxygen 8... Have a look where it says "Don't have Logic Control?' http://www.emagic.de/support/tipsNtricks/parameter.php?lang=EN

And more thing..
"This environment lets you take any eight remote faders and route them to any function within Logic using controller-numbers." http://www.swiftkick.com/lugenv/midi/cc-rider.zip

Can anyone help me here?????? is that so dificult??

Download the upgrade to 5.5 on www.emagic.de
It's free and should have the automation features. You don't need 6 for automation just for freeze.

Are u sure that it's possible to automate ES2 in 5.5 version Lady J???

I was doing automation in Logic 4.7 on the PC with Reaktor no problem. I believe it recorded the MIDI movements on the MIDI track itself, but I haven't touched Logic now in over a year. Is the template you selected on the Remote 25 set for Logic? Does your movements affect ES2 (I know there wasn't a template for ES2 that I remember in the Remote 25?).
If it moves it real time when you twiddle the knobs, but won't record it, it sounds like you've got the MIDI filter on for recording. IF it won't twiddle in real time either, then you need to figure out what MIDI CC's control what. Devon

my Remote 25 don't change ES2 knobs in real time and in "fake" time neither but the notes that i play is very good in ES2.....i can hear the sound perfectly.......but when i tweak the knobs nothing happens.....(but logic's transport window receives the message) anyone thinks that Logic 5.5 can have ES2 controlled by external controllers??

Since you didn't trust my advice enough to follow it perhaps this will help:
http://www.emagic.de/support/download/lainfo5e.html You also didnt mention which version of Logic you had. Audio, Gold or Platinum? In any event Logic 5.5 supports Logic Control and by extention automation using the hint and trick i posted above. Check it: Logic 5.5 for Mac OS X, Mac OS 9 and Windows Enhancements and changes since Logic 5.4 Logic Control support for Logic Gold and Logic Audio In addition to Logic Platinum, Logic Gold and Logic Audio now support Logic Control as well. Logic Control was originally released for Logic Platinum only. Logic Control functions specific to Logic Platinum cannot be used with Logic Gold or Logic Audio although they may show up in the display of Logic Control etc etc.. you can view the whole list of changes since your version at the link above.... Please take my advice. I may just be a girl but i know about this sh*t.

You can get the manuals for Emagic's instruments from here....
http://www.emagicusa.com/supportfiles/ They include a list of MIDI controllers too.

Go to the Automation options as my first first reply to you suggested. You should follow those instructions now that you have 5.5. What version of logic do you have? Audio, Gold or Platinum?

It's not shit, you just gotta know how to go about it.
Here's one way to do it: go to Options, song settings, midi options: in the bottom: change to "software use midi controller 65-127" if you open the ES2, you should see the knob moving once you set the right controller number. -ES2- /various 65 tune 66 analog 67 fit reset 68 DOT 69 bend range 70 glide 71 poly/mono/legato 72 unision 73 CBD /oscillator1 74 OSC1 on/off 75 OSC1 S 76 OSC1 C 77 OSC1 wav 78 OSC1 browser /oscillator2 79 OSC2 on/off 80 OSC2 S 81 OSC2 C 82 OSC2 wav 83 OSC2 browser /oscillator3 84 OSC3 on/off 85 OSC3 S 86 OSC3 C 87 OSC3 wav 88 OSC3 browser /synthdraw 89 horizontal 90 vertical /filter 91 drive top/left 96 res top/left 95 cut top/left 92 series/parallel 93 blend 94 bp/br/peak/hi/lp 97 fat/24/18/12 98 fat on/off 101 FM 100 res bottom/right 99 cut bottom/right 102 sine level 103 volume /target1 104 target on/off 105 source 106 via 107 bottom bar 108 top bar /target2 109 target on/off 110 source 111 via 112 bottom bar 113 top bar /target3 114 target on/off 115 source 116 via 117 bottom bar 118 top bar I got that from here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/logic-users/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/logic-users/files/%21CCnumbers/ Highly recommended yahoo group for Logic users and download the FAQ. It's packed with tips. Pat

btw it's using the old automation format (with hyper edit) but it does work and that's what counts.
| AndreasE | Posted: 11th February 2004 03:30 | |
Logic automatically assigns CC No. 64-127 to VST/Audio-instruments. Thus you have to assign a CC No. >63 to your external controller knobs for controlling VST-parameters.
EDIT: Oh, paradiddle beats me.

-SYNTH-,
I think the answer to your question is still not given in this thread. If you want to use external MIDI fader boxes together with the (new v5.x) track automation, you HAVE TO CONVERT all incoming MIDI controllers to so called Fader Events! This is done in the logic environment using a transformer object. Have a look on the net about this topic. It should be described at several places. I did it once and never touched it again, since it's a pain in the a$$ (at least for environment haters like me). So please only ask me to describe it if you can't absolutely find it somewhere else.. good luck! kybernaut
