I just noticed they dropped the price on QLSO Silver finally. So I'm seriously considering it.

The only problem that I've found with Silver is that I have an unquenchable desire for Gold now...

Silver is excellent but the thought that there's something even better... Shit!

Daren't even think about Platinum.

Seriously though, Silver sounds very good.

Yeah I've read good reviews in magazines too. I just wanted to see if any users are having problems with it. The demo's sound awsome! I'm really thinking about getting this.

The only problems I've experienced have been to do with the NI Direct from Disk extension and I've had the same problems in Kontakt. Switching off DFD solves them but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a fix soon.

Better hurry. The price drop is temporary. It's Soundsonline's Valentines sale until the 20th.

Well, you get that upgrade discount towards Gold, which is a fantabulous concept if you ask me.

The only issues I've heard of are the DFD problems, and also a few Protools and DP quibbles, mostly involving automation and whatnot.

I'm interested to see a head-to-head between EWQLSO Silver and Garritan's Personal Orchestra. I was considering one or the other, but decided on EWQLSO because of the extra VOTA choir samples as well as the aforementioned upgrade path. But GPO did sound pretty damn good in its own right.

The EWQL demo's sound much better than GPO to me. Thats the dilema. Although if they raise the price again I'll probably end up with GPO.

The Kompakt DXi player from EWQLSO Silver crashes in Sonar 3 at 24/96 sample rate (44,100 is fine). The VST version works at both rates. The samples, however, sound very good; disk streaming works well too. My system is an optimized P4, WinXP Pro, asus board, and delta 1010 (everythings updated).
I worked intensively trying to get the DXi to work at 24/96 yet to no avail - and i'm thouroughly versed in pcs and daws so i can only guess that NI needs to update the DXi a little more.
Man, how many times have i wished i had an 'external' daw? Confused

swear i'd read that silver is only 44.1k 16 bit, so if so, that might have somethnig to do with the crashes Smile

You can load 16/44 wavs into Sonar via 'import' and play them even though everything's setup for 24/96, so that's not the problem. Besides, the VST version runs fine.

I got PLATINUM Strings and Percussion, hands down I got a Orchestra in my room. Just a matter of time before woodwinds and brass are bought.
