Is there a reference as to what pitch your are creating in Vocaloid's console, before you render the actual sound? Something like a cheap piano with a keyboard? I play by ear, and although I can read notes with some effort, tab and the pitch of the note is what I go by.
Anyone know? | ||

Judging by the screenshot at www.vocaloid.com I would say your answer is 'yes' then. Good luck!

I'm sure someone will correct me but as far as I can tell there's no way to hear the pitch (or anything else) of your notes before rendering. This is a failing and I hope this will be looked at by the developers. The shiny keyboard on the left is not animated in any way and seems to serve only as a reference to the notes grid. This is less than ideal when you're trying to enter notes in some grid zooms. Some Vocaloid owners have called for a 'phoneme audition' function so you can hear the results without rendering the whole sequence. A simple tone would help though, if it played the notes as you click on them. Better than what we have at the moment. You *can* import midi files for use as the basis of your vocal parts. This is a bit hit & miss though. I'm sure I read somewhere that Yamaha are planning on an update that will let you enter notes via midi.
