AuthorTopic: Amazing what a skin can do for an Instrument

I'm amazed at how a simple change of color, and in the case of Pentagon I, a major overhaul, can do for the useability of a synth.

If you are using z3ta+, Pentagon I, or Triangle II and haven't already, take a look here for some wicked skins:

Any other skin masters that you all know about?

Yes, I was going to post someting about the T2 skin yesterday after geting it from Patcharena. For the first time I was inspired by this synth. Made a few 'rich' sounding presets.
I always knew that it was quality and was capeable of alot, but i just couldn't ever get past the dullness and ill conceived, ill labled interface. Great job NB!

I've been trumpeting the virtues of Nbeat skins over at PatchArena. They are professional works of art.I love the Pentagon Genesis skin.If I had my way EVERY vsti would com ewith that skin.I looks like I could just reach out a turn the knobs by hand they look so real.I've been begging for a Square I skin like was done for Triangle II but in the Genesis style.Great work Nbeat!!! Very Happy

Colour makes a difference like I said over on the ReFX forum.

you get plenty skins with ReverbX. in fact, you have a verb that changes clothes almost automatically Razz

and CFX synths have color schemes already built-in. and clean interfaces if you need to do some deep wizardry with envelopes and fromscratch.

oh yea and for freeware purists: which color of Synth1 sounds best? #555677 for background.

I think KVR should be skinnable. The user preference area should have a URL which points to the desired skin, and we could all trade URLs for different KVR Skins Very Happy

I really like the Vostok Pentagon I skin. Easy to read and see the value of the knobs. I like to see things at a glance when programming. I do not like to strain or really study to know the values of parameters.
