AuthorTopic: Akai->Kontakt conversion

Okay, this is pretty much an FAQ, but:
I've just bought Bizarre Guitar and Backbeat (they sound great, btw). But loading up each akai program one at a time is painful in the extreme. What's the best way to batch convert the lot?

Free would be nice, but not essential. Smile

Doesn't Kontakt offer the capability to convert into Kontakt format so that the file can be played direct from disc? Confused Most samplers offer this capability I believe.

I think this has to be done one file at a time though. Don't know whether batch processing is possible.

I've got Extreme Sample Converter which batch processes but it can only convert from Kontakt rather than the other way around. Hopefully, this may come in a future upgrade. Smile

Actually, it's more annoying than that. Kontakt had a akai batch conversion program they removed in a paid upgrade.

Gah...

Surprised Sad What made them do a daft thing like that? Confused Will they bring it back do you think? Loads of Akai owners have discs knocking about so batch processors are always useful when using soft samplers I think.

I've got VSampler 3 but I was thinking of buying either Kontakt or the new E-MU soft-sampler. I've played with a mates Kontakt and it seems very versatile and offers low cpu (or so it seems on his system). The DFD is also very good judging from my tests.

It's a shame it doesn't offer batch processing any longer. Sad

CDXtract 4 will definitely do a batch conversion of Akai to Kontakt.
Extreme Sample Converter may well do it too (not sure, but probably).
