I know there is some sort of issue with the Virus here - anyone care to enlighten me ?

Its not an 'issue', its a running joke...

Basically because every N days someone pops up and says 'softsynths can never sound as good as my Virus', or 'where can I get a softsynth that sounds like a Virus'

That's all. No-one sane here worries about whether you use a virus or not, as long as it helps you do what you want to do, and you dont start telling other people they need a virus or they cant do what they wanna do.

I feel the 'where can I get' case is really

'Where can I steal a VSTi that sounds like a Virus'

I'm afraid my ignorance of hardware synths runs fairly deep Wink

At the risk of some cheeky repostes - what's so special about the Virus ?

And presumably no-one's going to answer in the affirmative to my original question ?

if you are discussing the hardware Virus, then fair enough. but this forum/site is for plugin instruments, surely? the Powercore Virus is a plugin instrument, so we should be able to discuss it without the KVR thoughtpolice jumping on us. shit, we had this thread a couple of days ago.

i'm getting a powercore in the next week or two, and the powercore Virus is next on my list (when it comes out). if/when i need to come here and discuss it i will.
