Hello everyone.
My host is Fl Studio. The Lounge Lizard 2 manual says: 2.11 SUSTAIN PEDAL If you have a sustain pedal connected to your MIDI keyboard, the Lounge Lizard will respond to it. When the pedal is depressed, the sound will decay slowly even if you stop holding the notes. The sustain pedal responds to MIDI controller 64. I have my sustain pedal plugged in my keyboard controller in the Sustain Pedal jack. When I hit the pedal with my foot, I see the MIDI led blinking in FL Studio but I am unable to make the notes sustain in Lounge Lizard. Any idea what I am doing wrong? If you could tell me the steps I need to do to make the sustain pedal work, that would be great. I also posted my question in the Fl Studio forum, but I think I will have more luck getting an answer here. Thanks!!

You need to add a midi out object to your tracklisting, then do a 'automatic map CC controller' (Boolean type) 'release', then press the release pedal, then route the output of this to the same input channel as Lounge Lizard. It's complicated, but there's a more thorough description on the FLstudio support forums (just search for 'sustain pedal' or similar).

Does it work with any other VSTI?

Thanks for the help! I did a search in the fl studio forum, after you suggested it, and found a detailed answer Jonboy from the FL Studio forum said: In the top right hand corner of the plugin, there's a three digit control that's the midi port. Change this to say, 001. Then add a midi out generator from the FL channels menu. In the port window change this to 001 (could be anything though) to match to the port of the actual sound generator (above). Now in the midi out controller you have to link the sustain pedal to it by selecting any one of the knobs or the slider and right clicking on it and choosing Configure. Then in the Controller# box type in 64 (the midi value for the sustain pedal) and click on Accept. Next (nearly there!) right click on the same knob/control and select Link to controller. Then, simply stamp on your keyboard's sustain pedal and you're done. Now when you play your keyboard the sustain pedal works. Once you've done it a few times it becomes simple but I reckon it's way over complex for something that should be automatically present. Hope that helps! Thanks again. |
