Drat. I meant to start this last night in hopes that it matched the Vanguard thread. Very Happy

Got my upgrade from Albino 1 yesterday and so far things are great.

Has anyone done any direct comparisons between Albino 2 and Virus C?

why? Albino is not a "soft Virus" in any way so what's there to compare?

Currenly struggling with Cubase not wanting to start with Albino2. Mad

What??? Smile Not that old question again. Surely you can't be serious about this! These are two fully independently developed synthesizers with different user interfaces, oscillators, filters and effects algorithms. What a non-useful and fruitless exercise. Why not look at it on it's own merits? It certainly has the power and flexibility to stand on it's own two digital feet. Wink

Why. ... Uh ... I am not sure how to reply! I thought everyone knew that a VSTi is not worth it's weight in electrons if it does not perfectly emulate a Virus. What is WITH these people? Surprised

yeah every VSTi should sound either like a virus or a moog, otherwise its complete crap and totally useless.

Don't forget 'falling off the back of a turnip truck' Smile

aliasing...don't forget aliasing! We haven't discussed that yet..."I want it/don't want it because it aliases/doesn't alias" and all of the various permutations and combinations.

What we need here is a sort of thread wizard where you just need to plug in and choose from multiple choices, then the wizard generates the post. It would save us hours of time when posting! Very Happy

Ok well, in a while we'll have people complaining when they buy that vintage moog that "it doesn't sound like an Albino!" Razz

I kinda like the idea of having threads spill over each other too...get some fresh air...you know something along the lines of "AMD makes my synth alias" or "Intel P4 makes my synth sound like a moog emulating a Virus." The possibilities are endless...and fun!!! Cool

I'm wondering why Albino 2 sounds better when loaded into Sonar 3 than it does loaded into FL, Project 5, or EnergyXT. I think it's because the color of Albino 2 matches up better with Sonar 3.
