![]() this is a midi arpeggiator made with synthedit a brief feature rundown: • standard mode cycles notes in order on keyboard • phrase mode cycles notes in order played • shuffle/swing function • transpose function on 2nd midi channel • hold mode for hands-free playing • adjustible octave range from 1 to 4 octaves • translates note value into midi CC values with glide • send note and/or controller info simultaneously • =< 16 step gate sequencer • reset gate sequence and/or arpeggio with separate counters • compact gui for cpu and screen space efficiency the DEMO has one limitation: octave range fixed to 3 octaves please test the demo with your host before ordering! the capabilities of building a midi plug with synthedit seem to vary in effectiveness from host to host. html documentation is included. (okay, i didnt want to sell any anyway) at this time there are two reported bugs - one person has said the arpeggio started on the high note some times. no one else has confirmed this, so again, please test for yourself. there are multiple beat counters to reset the arp and gate sequencer (you can develop cross rhythm sequences very quickly with these options) they seem to work fine although at one time i thought i heard two notes superimposed. regardless, it's fun to mess around with, if you don't mind me saying. if you received 'the previous final edition' for beta testing and want the newly added reset features, hit me up. price: there are two payment options - (1) $5 via paypal (2) if $5 is out of your league, you can get a copy by demonstrating merit. in all likelihood, this will consist of a 10 minute synthedit 'assignment..' demonstrate that you're willing to help yourself, and i'll help you out to a full copy you don't have to pay for. download demo: http://www.dancetech.com\file-library\plugin\arp2midi_DEMO.zip

I think indeed that he must have meant 'sweat equity'. I invest a lot of that myself at my under-paid job.
I gotta agree, this is a great marketing idea. The midi arp looks really flexible, it's a useful thing for just about anybody to have... and 5 bucks is just too attractive. I'm glad you are charging for some of your creations xoxos, you've made some of the most unique SE creations that I can think of. What I really like is that you are giving people a kick in the pants to try out SE themselves. This is one of the coolest moves I've seen in a long time, well done xoxos! I've got more stuff in my 'to-do' pile that I can even comprehend at this very moment, plus my wife will be having our second baby literally any second now.... but I'm going to make time to check this puppy out. Hopefully over the weekend, probably a bit later. In any case, I'll let you know my thoughts. I'd love to support you with the $5, but an excuse to dig into SE for a free ARP might also be just what I need. I'll have to weigh my free time vs. five bucks when the time comes. Thanks xoxos

Great idea on both the arpeggiator and 'sweat equity'
but this is my brain - this is my brain programming in SynthEdit - couldn't get it in Mozilla, page not found....

glad to help you out tho x_bruce - baby steps! the help file will walk you thru making a basic synth, and there are examples in the d/l and the yahoo group to walk you thru whichever direction you wish to go next. there's no reason why every 5th grader (that's division, right?) in this country shouldn't be using se to demonstrate applications for math and physics.. all your ghetto kids hopped up on hiphop would be all over trig after a few years if they're given a chance to do some synthesis.

hey! I offered to pay, and the offer still stands
| xoxos | Posted: 19th March 2004 06:34 | |
it's like with my skins.. asked for $2 for unlimited use of any skin elements i release.. in two years, if i'd accepted any of the offered donations, i would have made a grand total of $6 (tho i still see my gui elements popping up, eg. that new drawbar organ that's up atm) which is a petty total to discriminate against those who feel they should pay. why should it cost you $5 when a dozen other people have it for free?
it's not like i'm pissed about it.. i know how this works i just wish there was a greater public comprehension of this.

If I had time I'd probably be putting it in the site or making some music for my own edification. In the U.S. people make a big deal about computers. Let me tell you a true story. [rant mode on] I have a friend that gave me 10 - P3 800mhz, 20 - 40gb computers to people that could use it. I spoke to school districts who turned down the whole lot! I eventually started talking to my neighbors, all of them in similar health and financial situations like me; we all live in a building made for people with disabilities. Of my neighbors, that being 20 people, and their helpers, that being about 15, each person said they didn't want it except for three and they didn't want the computer if they had to arrange to pick them up. I think a lot of myths need changing. Not all poor people want to better themselves, nor do we want to take advantage of the govenment although we are treated like criminals. There are no easy answers, even with poverty or people that could benefit from something like a computer. If I offered a pair of Air Jordans or a cell phone I would have had people pounding my door to get them. [/rant mode off] I'm an idiot though, I still think there's hope for us as a society.

don't be too quick to dismiss darling, there's such a lot of shit in my life this month that i simply haven't got time to even try it out.take away the option too early and all the slow people like me miss out!...'s 'at right slow people?

hey xoxos i offered to pay too, sometimes i think you haven't grasped this capitalism game, more power to you and to everyone else, this really is a sweet sweet arp, worth getting a bit sweaty for, hmm did i mean that? oh and i was going to say that gum and gate_one are both incredibly useful too, and they are, but i see from xoxos' page that they have been removed as a mark of support for chris kerry. respect to xoxos, nice one, though i doubt it'll make much difference to the devs who sell synthedit creations and can't be arsed to put in the proper credit where it's due. ok mini rant over, but it does piss me off
