Do any of you cats know of a good funky "tower of power" brass DXi's and VSTi's.

I am aware of brass sample CDs like "memphis Horns" but i dont know if you have to site down and program the parts out. at least that was my assumption with using Kontakt.

any ideas???

Thanks[/code][/u]

I love the Tower of Power horn sound... and I've been trying to find something to recreate it myself. From my current research, I'm leaning towards AMG's "Kick Ass Brass" which comes in various different sampler formats and comprises separate Trumpet, Trombone, Alto and Tenor Sax with loads of articulations.

Check out this demo here:

That demo sounds great... but.. $360 US for only 450 mb of samples? Seems quite steep.

Sounds like you get what you pay for. I have "brit horns" but can't recommend it. Great sounds but very limited in variety. It does have some nice articulations which if you want as-is are great.

Having said that, I didn't hear that much variety in the one you just posted. They probably chose the demo song to fit exactly what they have to offer. :/

And like any real acoustic with articulations, I bet they're a bastard to program.
