http://www.panicnow.net/~xoxos/arpluxe.zip

the preset has maybe a little too much lfo to filter cutoff.. everything makes sense if you are familiar with my annotation style and synthedit's conventions.. only thing that needs an explanation then is that the 3 sync buttons are: (1) both dcos to key-on, (2) dco1 syncs to pm osc and (3) dco2 to dco1

crashes on me when i switch programs when running.. kind of a big scary monster, but can do some freaking shit, resynced s&h lfos and gating patterns and stuff. please send patches. it's late.

[quote="Laserguided"]hmm, looks VERY cool[quote]

cheers, IT IS

as you know, the oscillator arrangement is kinda arbitrary, but it fits the bill.

if i can build a decent preset database, this monkey is an instant part creator. in stereo.

there are 2 fixes for the gui, but they're not coming until i get some patches! Mad heil arpler!

(1) will add a chiclet under the currently selected modulator (eg/lfo)

i will derive immense personal satisfaction if the community at large chooses to ignore and forego this plug-in.

(2) in the envelopes, the button is for inverting, not 'key' - it was late..

let me put it this way - most of the people i meet grow up being able to tolerate being called a nutneck, fuckwad, et c. as part of their fucking culture, if you follow me.

then you have your aye-howles who stand around saying "oh dear, how base, when will they come up to our level," w/o realising that they are the ones being exclusory.

of course, they also suffer from the illusion that they aren't programmed to go about maknig discriminations in order to perpetuate their life-sucking grip on the real working class.. we've been through this before,

"if only you'd work for your education, then you could be a lawyer instead of a shit shoveler as well" then they can both force someone else in some far away country they don't have to observe to do the shoveling next time they need some shit.

it's like that old song, dickheads just don't understand. it's no wonder, they're fucking dickheads!

A D D E D
***************

chiclet and eg polarity label correction as promised, plus unnoticable gui stuff, so operationally perfect.

a few more patches - it looks like the crash "during patch selection while playing" was due to a control setting ghost.. not sure which control it's stuck in, so didn't clear it out.. now it doesn't *always* crash if i switch between new patches. i gues sif you move everything around and save your own banks, you should be able to switch programs live. heheheh.

it's kinda got everything going.. midi to cv to midi feedback loop among others, but seems utterly solid here when not switching programs.

the only functional improvement i might add is smoothing the pan modulation w/ s+h lfo (would require an extra lpf added to cpu) which can oc click w/ sufficient panning/amplitude since it's an instant transition. fairly dynamic modulations can be applied before it seems noticable, which is why i left it out. cpu seems quite enough as is.

anyone want that extra cpu?
vurt
Posted: 28th March 2004 10:25
nah we can do all that with fx
wouldnt mind the crash occassionally fixed tho Wink
xoxos
Posted: 28th March 2004 11:47
is it only crashing during program switches or otherwise?

just a fyi rurik (cos knowing SE im sure this is outside your control) ...

... this looks real cool but is unusable here (amd850 / winXPpro) ...

... i can load it up and use the 'up' preset no problem in both energyXT and tracktion here but ...

... switching to ANY other preset (whether during playback or not) results in these effects ...

energyXT - the whole app shuts down
tracktion - cpu goes through the roof even if i switch back to the 'up' preset

... something odd is going on ...

slainte Confused rob

i'm going to delete the patch select and reload the patches as .fxp and see if that helps, but i'm screwing with the gui atm so will wait.

Posted: 28th March 2004 13:19
btw sounds nice remco. like the poly overlap effect. can i put that up as a demo sometime?
xoxos
Posted: 28th March 2004 17:45
okay, here's the new shit

http://www.panicnow.net/~xoxos/arpluxe.zip

i think the patch select problem is there for now - wiggled every control, saved and reloaded all the patches after exchanging the patch select.

i think that it's probably due to some of the .seps being from march 2003, eg. sdk1 not sdk2, so perhaps updating those will eliminate it, or maybe jeff can fix it! let me know if it doesn't work for anyone outside of this.. sorry. free tho and should work with one progam. maybe you can switch between your own patches with the host?
xoxos
Posted: 28th March 2004 19:38

http://www.panicnow.net/~xoxos/arpervert.zip

if that wasn't bad enough.. this version uses ~2x as much cpu..

..i pulled the 'voice combiner' module off the first lfo, which means it uses (only) the first lfo polyphonically..

..the advantage of this is eg. using polyphony with panning position.. extended notes 'hang in their own space' instead of the polyphony jumping around. it's a cpu killer but i wanted to do one that way and i'll be d/ling it else where myself, so :p

it says '-luxe' on the gui but will show up as '-ervert' in your host.

Goddamn Xoxos I take back that one burn I made about you one time for overdoing some banter out of spite.
Other than that I always thought of it as funny and now
my girlfriends wondering why Im verbally in awe and saying "I love this guy"

I like the original layout tho (but with the gray skin)

too many colours in this one?

how's the single-patch stability holding up for people?

does anyone apart from et and i make music w/o requiring presets? :p

here's the deal - i *could* release this vsti w/ only 1 preset, and then no one would get any crashes (i guess) and no one would complain - however, some hosts (like mine) won't store patches in the host unless there is a patch select module with at least 8 presets..

..so the thing is, you can use arpluxe with only one preset, and save your own patches. for all i know, you will probably be able to save your own banks of 16 presets and switch between them w/o any errors whatsoever..

i'm real sorry the preset seleciton doesn't work, but there's nowt i can do about it at the present.

for reals - is anyone having any troubles storing their own patches or anything else, outside of switching between presets?? :p

ran it by jeff and he says it's due to the midi>cv module being in a feedback loop - something he hadn't foreseen Very Happy

i could take it out atm by removing lfo>gate and shuffle.. but should be fixed by next se beta.

Very Happy you're in trouble then..

well, i dunno what's wrong with you people Smile because in logic4 it operates perfectly, i can switch patches while playing and all.. guess you'll have to wait for jeff!

there you go, just scatting around on the keyboard with some of the presets. not bloody bad i say.. this thing will devastate live. do you people just come along and make up bugs to keep stuff for yourselves or what?? Razz
